I just realized that yesterday and today are the very first days I've EVER heard Tigger growl in the 2 years that we have had him in our home. That makes me really sad. He just doesn't understand what we are trying to do to save his life. He just thinks we are being mean.
We weren't getting much food down him having him wrapped in a towel and being held upside down in someone's arms at all. This afternoon I set him on the table and covered him with the towel and Z held on to him and he actually ate a lot more than he had so far.
He has to eat or he will die. That is what we are down to.
I've no luck today getting pills down him.
He has had one under the skin instead of in the vein that went okay today. He just growled the entire time as we petted him and talked to him. I'd hate being stuck with a needle too.
Below I've added some pictures of varying stages of the last feeding. He was not happy but he got more down than any other time so far.
Keep praying for Tigger and for me that I'll be able to get the stuff into him he needs to stay alive.
He is supposed to go for more bloodwork on Monday and they will keep him on IV's if we haven't been able to do what we were told he had to have this weekend.

I do have a pill shooter that my vet gave me for one of my very difficult to pill cats. It works very well. Depending on what the pills are like, it might help you.
I will bring it to you if you want it. Just call me. You can't live that far.
any other day, these photos could almost be funny... Blessings...

This may be a long shot, Faith... but, do you think that Tigger might take to a nipple-based feeding rather than a syringe? Perhaps it would give him comfort to regress a bit to the baby stage of taking "a bottle" and at the same time, you may get him to get more into him. It may be worth a try.
My heart goes out to you and Tigger. Thank you for the update. and we will pray that his bloodwork comes back with some good news on Monday.
I think you would need to get kitten feeding bottles and make the nipple hole larger. Sue can answer better.

I would suggest trying a bottle/nipple system put out by by a company called PetAg. They have bottles with a variety of nipple sizes that cost about $4 at PetSmart (I am sure other pet stores have this or similar products, as well) and another package with bottle and nipples with an adult cat food supplement that costs about $8 at PetSmart.
If you have a specific diet for Tigger, I would suggest calling your vet before feeding any food supplement as you want to be sure that it does not give him anything that would interfere with his treatment. But, the same company offers many different types of nipple sizes and I am sure one will be just right for little Tigger.
In case you have any questions regarding their product, let me give you the manufacturer's contact information:
