Sorry, I will not vote in this contest for your darling photo. I personally do not think entering the same photo in several different contests at the same time is morally proper to do. I have voted for your baby over at the bommertowne photo contest. Usually somewhere in the rules for most contests it says that if it is entered in this contest it should only be this contest. until the contest is over.

I checked the rules at Snapfish and you indeed violated the rules it clearly states that the photo must not be in any other contest. It is taken from section 7
"By submitting an Entry, each Entrant warrants that (i) the Entry does not violate any law or regulation or any right of any third party, including those laws, regulations, and rights related to copyrights, trademarks, publicity, or privacy, (ii) the Entrant has followed the Rules and has the right to grant the rights to a Photo as provided in these Rules, and (iii) the Photo has not been published or submitted in any other competition. "

Boometrtowne also has the same rules.

April, you are WRONG. Boomertowne does NOT have the same rules. I don't see anything wrong with entering a good photo in more than one contest. Good work should be able to be entered. You must be an up to no good busybody to have found that in the other site.

Good work does indeed belong in contests and I love your photo and voted on it at Boomertowne and will continue voting on it even though you say I am a no good busybody which is not very nice of you! I too belong to snapfish although I did not enter this years contests, because of my previous submissions to their contests in the past I was aware of their rules. When I saw your article asking me to vote I came to vote and realized that it was the same photo. And it is wrong to enter the same photo at snapfish as it does indeed violate the rules of that contest. ANd no matter what you think to me personally it is also morally worng to enter the same work in more then 1 contest at the same time. That is why contests atate that in the rules. I only went to their site and copied you the rules here as a courtesy so that you could correct your error which I comend you for doing..

And like it or not it is in Boomertownes rules and is covered under the section marked third party rights. When a photo is submitted to another contest it becomes the property of that third party (the contest sponser for the duration of that particular contest)
Boomertowne rule:
"Photographs entered must be original works. By entering, participants warrant that his or her entry materials are original, do not infringe on any third party's rights'

But removing the content fro msnapfish should not effect your boomertowne entry as you made an error and you corrected it.

The meaning of Third Party Rights when it comes to Photography:
An entrant must hold all rights to a photograph. Submission of an entry to any contest grants an affiliated company the unrestricted right to modify, edit, adapt, alter, publish and/or use the submitted photograph in any way, at any time and in any and all media in connection with the advertising or promotion of it's products or services, without consideration or payment to the entrant or to any other third party.

I am sorry you obviously feel I am attacking you I am not! Your photos are beautiful and deserve all the recognition they can get! BUt the world of rules/third party issues are important in getting your work the recognition it deserves.
