Lowry Park Zoo: The Giraffes (Photo Essay)

Since I can't seem to find anything on Gather today, I decided to post another photo essay.  These are the pictures I took of the giraffes at Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa, Florida.  They have an amazing place where you can go buy a cracker to feed them and they take it out of your hand.   When we were on the field trip last year we did this, but not this time.  (If you want to see the pictures full size, click on the photo on the top right and scroll through.)

They have little umbrella like tops for the giraffes to stand under. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

These two seemed to like each other.  I don't know if it was a mom and older baby.

Those giraffes are really cute. I bet it's a Mom and baby. The reason I say that is because my kids are always attached to my hip----or so it seems they are!

My daughter is going through a giraffe phase right now. She told me over the weekend that giraffes were her favorite animal. They are pretty neat, but they really crack me up when they spread their legs all out in the front so they can bend down. It just looks so odd and funny. : )

Giraffes are pretty cool. They had a baby born a few years ago at the St Louis Zoo and we went in and visited a few times over the following months. Haven't been there in too long....
