Okay, some of you may know of the old Art Linkletter show, "Kids say the darndest things!" Well I loved that show, and absolutely love hearing kids say silly impromptu things.
Lets share some things our kids have said that are just downright funny and cute! Come on, make me laugh... I need a boost.
My 2 year old just started saying, "You're in trouble." He came up to me the other day in the kitchen and said it right out of the blue. It was so cute I had to laugh.
My 10 year old son has always had a way with words and says the weirdest things out of nowhere. One day I said something to him and he looked at me seriously, waved his hand around and his head and said, "Oh no you di'int!" Lately everything I do he says, "Mom, you're such a girl!" Ah the joys of children! lol
My 4 year old has a preschool teacher and she is called "Teacher Pat." My 2 year old calls her "Cheeker Pack." It is hilarious, and she thinks it's absolutely adorable.
My mom goes by "Grammy" to my kids. My two year old can't say it... he calls her "Manny." It's especially funny if you've ever seen the Disney Channel cartoon, "Handy Manny." He also can't say "grandma" he calls her "manna" but it used to sound more like "banana."
My uncle Jamie has been called different things by my kids. One of my children used to call him uncle "Amy" which was just hilarious. My 2 year old calls him "Jammy."
Okay, your turn!

and i used to tease one of my daughters( she was about two) by saying, "I know you, harriett."
Harriett is not her name...not even close...she would yell at me "My name's not Harriett"
I shouldn't have pestered her, but she was so cute.....
One day she was asking to do something and I said she couldn't do it..meaning I would not allow her to do so.
She said that she could do it and I said "I know you can"
she yelled at me, "My name's not can"
When my oldest grandchild was two, she would be doing something she shoucldn't, we would try to stop her and she would say, ' But you pwomised"
i have lots of others....will save them for another time
And the response... "No I don't, and my name's not Shirley!" lol I guess that wouldn't work for you Shirley, ;)
Now every time I hear the song in Sunday School I try to sing Dee Dee voted because I'm thinking of that.
we were teaching my granddaughter to count in Spanish and say 'please' and other things...she was about 18 months ...for "por favor', she said 'four, four, four'
and it took some time for us to figure out that when she said "dee da, dee da" , she wanted to play "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiago""...that was the sound, to her, that the game makes when it's being played and you're watching the police go by
Chuck? " thats her new thing...oh and " Mom is so silly " but thats on the video I loaded..
I liked that show but I didn't see it until Cosby hosted it..very cute!
I think it's funny when he calls me "dude" and I say, "Did you just call me dude? Do I look like a dude to you?" I thought that was one of the funniest parts on the movie "Dicky Roberts."
My youngest daughter, who is 4, caught me off guard one day when she reached for something off my desk and I made that "EH!" noise parents do, she looked at me and said, very politely I might add, "Momma, we already PLAYED 'babble like an idiot."
This one's a bit evil because I'm in the middle of a divorce from my girls' dad, but still funny: their dad thought it was hillarious when Carlos Mencia first came out to run around shouting "DEE DUH DEE" all the time. So now, my oldest daughter will run through the house shouting, "MOMMA! DEE-DUH-DEE! - just like daddy!"
For the record, I don't say or promote anything negative about their dad, but that one cracks me up - even though I have to wait for her and/or her sister to leave the room before I can laugh lol.
My youngest daughter and neice (they're in the same class) just learned the song Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater at school - and when my neice sings it, she says "Peter Peter Pumpkin eater, had a wife and couldn't EAT her."
Kids are cute, you can always count on them for a laugh : )
I laughed especially hard about the "babble like an idiot" story you told me. Too funny!!!
When I worked in daycare, we had a cute little redheaded girl, about 5 years old, that came running up to us pointing at the dark sky and yelling, "We need to go inside, we're going to get hit by a RAY-TADO!" (We're in the south, so this was complete with the cutest sqeaky-voiced twang)
Once we explained to the little girl about tornadoes and that if there were one we would make sure everyone was safe, the girl I worked with gave her a piece of candy. She told me, "I just HAD to, for that whole "ray-tado" thing.." We got a good laugh out of that for a while lol
