I tried to reach ATT my former phone company. Here's my story. This account is a combination of eight calls I had to make to ATT. I'm paraphrasing and summarizing.
I started at 10 am and finished at 1:30. The calls consisted of lies, aggravation, a little cursing on my part and finally I gave up and signed with Cox Cable.
Just to talk to a human person takes several minutes of dancing with a computerized voice that asks you to repeat what you just said. I paid my bill late. OMG! As soon as I knew I missed my bill, I paid it immeditately through my bank in full.
Then, I get calls. Not one or two but several and a letter threatening to disconnect me. (The bill had already been paid mind you.) So, when I called and finally got a human, she asked what proof I had. Now mind you, the bill wasn't due or 30 days late. I explained I had paid through my bank and they would receive payment today, the tenth. Well I'm sorry, but that's not good enough. How much did you pay and when. I told her. She asked my to repeat the amount. I repeated something else. She told me she was trying to help me. I told her I wanted to speak to a supervisor. Oh, they're busy, but they'll call you back. Right! I'll be long gone by then. Then, to disconnect from Dish which is part of your bundle package you'll have to pay $186.50.
My blood pressure shot up and again I asked to speak to a supervisor. No, they're busy. I told them I would blog this and then they found a supervisor.
Bottom line, Dish Network, out of kindness and understanding for my plight with ATT cancel the cancellation fee that I never knew existed. Cox, gave me a salesperson's email address and direct phone number so if I have trouble again, I can contact him directly.
So, Kudos to Cox and Dish Network, and to AT&T, I offer this blog and a Bronx cheer.

I know have a sprint cell phone, dish network (my only complaint there is they keep switching me to paperless billing and there is a $5 fee when you downgrade your plan) and Comcast internet. I have no choice on internet.... *sigh*
I've never had them and never will. I have ComCast for cable and internet. There are no other cable companies to choose from. Bummer.
I have found there aren't many companies left that have good cutomer service. If I find one that does, I will pay extra, if necessary to stick with them. What happened to good customer service? Most of the time I'm talking to someone overseas that hasn't a clue what my problem really is and I can hardly understand their answers. Why are we paying companies to treat us like you-know-what? Don't even get me started..........
Is that the secret?

I have been a customer for 5 yrs ( Bellsouth then ATT bought them)
I HATE their service and Customer Service is a JOKE. IF you can talk to someone
in English, good luck.
