I am excited to announce we will be conducting a site upgrade at 11:00 PM eastern time Thursday April 10, 2008. The site will be unavailable for approximately 4 hours. Please be sure to complete any publishing activity prior to this time. Check back after 3:00 AM ET on Friday to log in and start your day on Gather.
Tonight's upgrade will help you keep in touch with the people you care about and explore the things you love like never before. As Pam Johnston explained in three recent articles, we are making improvements in a number of core ares of the site:
- First, your "My Gather" page will have a new look consisting of three dynamic feeds that will allow you to focus on the people, groups and topics that matter most to you. The Friend Feed, Group Feed and Topic Feed can be filtered for the people and activities that you are most interested in.
- Second, tomorrow morning you will have a single place (combining what we have previously called your namespace and your profile) where people can come and see what you have shared with them. Each visitor to that page might see a different part of you, since Gather lets you share different parts of your life with different sets of friends. On this page, you will be able to feature your own best content in a "spotlight" area at the top of the page and anyone visiting your profile will have a view to your personal Feed that shows your recent site activity.
- Additionally, with this release you will be able to see how many views your profile has received. We will also show Gatherers how many views each piece of content has received on the site as well.
As always, we appreciate your patience during this upgrade and we encourage your feedback on the new Gather!
All the best,
Tom

Good luck with it and hope all goes well .
I hope it doesn't take long to adjust to!
I'm glad we're going to see page views, now. I think that's really important.
Hope it all goes smoothly!
Here's ten points for you - ha ha
We are no entering an area of turbulence. Please return to your seats and bring all stewardesses to the upright position if you would.
Tighten your seatbelts, put your heads between your knees and hold on - we are going in!
Thanks you for flying Gather Hairlines, the place where even *your* hairline can recede!
Thanks for the update.
I hope this one goes smoother than the last few. I just recently have everything working again!
I'm looking forward to this. Thanks Gather. You rock!
I would like to be able to get to the last page of something without having to click on page 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9... especially when I know there is something I want to see on the last page and there are 48 pages. Will that ever be in an upgrade?
Thanks!
If I'm understanding Pam's articles, YOU will be able to control WHAT you see and from WHOM.
I think. (I hope--I also am not interested in a feed showing every little thing my connections do. I only want to keep up with the articles, pictures and comments they contribute.)
Tom, I was quite content with the way things are, I used to grow up with someone that said, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, But will try and get along as well as I can with new things, old dog you know.
Maybe I'll go on vacation. ;o)
Thanks for the info, Tom!
Good Luck

The only suggestion I would have is to put more articles on a page, or show more groups on each page maybe 70 or so instead of 30 or so.
I also like the total count on the number of views.
Also, would it be reasonably possible to allow multiple selections made in the selection box? For example, I would like to be able to select both articles AND images at the same time, without necessarily having the videos, comments, status changes, etc.
Others have a 'Spotlight this" button. I have none of my articles or a 'Spotlight this' button. Please may I have my articles and 'Spotlight this' button?
Sincerely,
Elizabeth A.
I'm still finding things that are new.
Good Job All
