Thanks for the links in the original article, James. PHEVs look indeed set to become mainstream. I also see a great future for all-electric cars. Eventually, I expect all-electric cars to outsell PHEVs.

That would be great! Thanks for the feedback, Sam. I thought it was interesting that an article about the importance of Lithium ion batteries for PHEVs came out on the same day as the announcement of better Li ion battery technology discovered at Argonne National labs. It means some people are doing the timely work we need, and it seems to be coming together.

I wonder what kind of secondary industry this is going to create for "juicing stations" -- plugin points for apartment dwellers, etc.

Can't wait to see it happen! I wonder if they'll develop an automatic shutoff to prevent overcharging--it doesn't seem like that should be that hard.

Gerry: I think that the overcharging protection is all ready available technology- many things I own seem to have it, including rechargeable battery chargers.
