Have you noticed more votes than comments?  Is this a glitch.  Is Gather Glitch alliteration?  Can anyone discuss a topic without slamming George Bush?

Just some thoughts to ponder.

A lot of times if I don't have something to say about the article but I thought it was a good article I will rate (vote) it and move on.

This may be why you are seeing more votes than comments.

I agree with Ang I will just vote when I don't have a lot of time to comment cause when I get started commenting it is VERY hard to stop haha ;o)...

I usually comment if I vote.... but I guess it depends on the time and on if I have anything new to add to the comments

I will usually vote and say at least something, as I don't like to vote and run. But I get in a hurry too, and so I then vote and say something like great article. I don't want to do a DB even with a 10 and I always leave 10's

I think it's because someone was going around telling Gatherers at one point that ratings are worth points, but comments aren't, and it caught on. ::wry grin::
