Sad story about my kitty : (

I couldn't write about this sooner, it was really hard for me. I had to have Dusty put to sleep two weeks ago. He was eighteen years old, which was great for a cat. I guess we did a good job caring for him. It was a hard decision, but the best one for him. I had a lot of pets in my life, and never had to do that before. Usually they just died in their sleep, which would have been easier for me. I still have Misty, she is adjusting to not having Dusty around anymore. I have become her best friend for now, she follows me everywhere.

18 is a long good life for a cat. I know how hard it is to have to help them in their last days...but that is something we sign on for when we agree to love and care for them. I'm so sad for you, and I am glad you still have Dusty.

I'm so sorry for your loss. You need to check out the Rainbow Poem which discusses the loss of a pet. It is an awesome help in dealing with losing one of our loved ones with fur. I understand your pain. Kitty, aka Brandy, was put to sleep at age 20. He was my sweetie. The pain eventually dwindles with time. (((HUGS)))

I'm so sorry for your loss. It is always so sad to lose a beloved pet, for they are like children to us. Remember that love never dies, we carry it in our hearts forever. I believe in that Rainbow Bridge and we'll be united with all our wonderful pets someday. Hugs to you and Misty.

Oh Bonnie, I am so so sorry to hear about your loss, I had to put one of my cats to sleep once too, and he was only 5.. It was AWFUL, I do know how you feel... Take Care, hope that you and Misty are ok.. :)

Bonnie, I am so sorry you had to make this decision - it must be much harder than mourning a friend who just dies while asleep. At the same time, you proved you loved Dusty enough to be able to let him go when he needed to...

I am sorry Bonnie. I think you made the right decision. I made some calls and wanted to have my kitty put to sleep when he was 19 but I just couldn't make myself do it. I regret it because I am sure it would have been easier for him to justs go to sleep. I am glad you have still Misty.

Bonnie, I am so sorry for your loss. I wish I had found this article sooner.

I know how much your kitties mean to you. And I know that no matter his age, losing Dusty had to be very hard.

There's nothing I can say to make it any easier. Just know I understand and I care.

I've had to do so before and I know how painful it is to lose a pet/

I am so sorry to read this. Our pets are so close to our hearts. 18 years is amazing.
Oh I am so sorry to hear this. I know it is a very hard decision to make. I had to have this done for my little Fluffy last fall and I'm still avoiding dealing with that.

Putting a pet to sleep is a really hard decision but you know in your heart what is best for them. He will be waiting at Rainbow Bridge for you :)

We had to put a couple of our dogs to sleep and that was really hard. I hope you are doing better now. Hope Misty is adjusting too.
