I shall not do like the Judge who kicked all of the White visitors out of his court. I could not do it here on Gather anyway, although I suppose I could just send a message to my personal African American friends. . . .
CNN is reporting throughout the country, African Americans are calling President Clinton,
"Massuh Clinton"
African Americans are harassing**, and otherwise putting the pressure on their peers and co-workers --
those who support Hillary Clinton -- so that these people have been muffled, and afraid to utter a word or gesture in support of their candidate, Hillary Clinton. I saw a couple of people speaking to it, how they had been intimidated -- oh, what a terrible thing!
I know the mistake Hillary Clinton made about her comment with the church. There is one place that anyone in the African American community must be careful when threading -- the Black Church -- and she blew that one, ROYALLY.
I want to quickly stress that this drive is -- in no way, shape or form -- driven, or being endorsed by Senator and Mrs. Obama, or the "Obama for America" organization. These people are the friends and relatives of the harassed, pressured and lampooned.
Nonetheless, this IS America, right? This IS the country where we have strived -- fought and died -- for so many years to achieve what many have taken for granted.
If an African American wants to support Hillary Clinton, so be it.
If an African American wants to support John McCain, so be it,
Heck, if an African American wants to support David Dukes,* I would stand with them in their Constitutional right to do it; so many who have preceded us have fought, sacrificed, and died for this; what has happened to us? Have we forgotten?
For those of us who support Senator Barack Obama, take a deep breath, sit back, relax -- it's alllll good. In fact, ask Mariana T. to pass over some of that wine, or champagne, and let's have a pre-party. Senator Obama shall be the 44th President of the United States, and we should all should be making our plans to be in D.C. in January, 2009. Winners need not be concerned about what losers do. Winners only need continue doing what caused them to be winners in the first place,
"Ordinary people CAN DO extraordinary things" says Barack Obama.
Now, that's what I'm talking about, and it is the fabric, the essence of our being;
WE ARE WINNERS!
WE ARE DO-ers!
We have already engaged in, and embraced
CHANGE we can believe in!
I congratulate the Obamatized of Gather that none of the aforementioned activities have occurred here on Gather. I just wanted to commend you for your high ideals, and presentations. We have SHOWN that we are not like this -- to attack someone based on the candidate they support.
Congratulations again to you, the Obamatized. You are truly the Pioneers of a new and great generation:

The Obama for America Generation!
*(I might recommend a little Dr. Phil counselling on the David Dukes support, but you get the point, don't you?)
**I want to quickly stress that this drive is -- in no way, shape or form -- driven, or being endorsed by Senator and Mrs. Obama, or the "Obama for America" organization. These people are the friends and relatives of the harassed, pressured and lampooned.

Amen, Nee
VOTE FOR WHO YOU WANT !!!
yay !!!
Thank you all for agreeing with the American Way of doing things. I am sure you shall hear more about this outrage on the news. All we might do at this point is to support people who are being pressured to stick to their guns (whether we like their candidate or not).
It IS the right thing to do.
As to this topic, it should be a non issue. All whites don't vote for the same candidate, all Latinos don't vote for the candidate, all Asians don't vote for the same candidate, so why should African Americans be any different? Color of skin should not matter. If you hear the message that fills your spirit with excitement, then that's who you should vote for. That's the only thing I don't get about people voting for Clinton, what is it about her that actually excites them? Clinton is so rude and pushy - LOL - okay no bashing candidates today. Maybe I will catch you tomorrow, Nalita.
Gooooooooooooooooooooo Obama!!!!!!
Every (well, most every) employer has an employment application that states "ABZ Corp. does not discrimate for reasons of race, religion, gender, national origin, nor sexual preference". I believe that, for the most part, this is true. Employers want the best, the most qualified, most loyal and most honest employees they can get.
The next President we elect is OUR employee. WE pay the President's salary. I want the best, the most qualified, most loyal and most honest President I can get. Regardless of race, religion, gender, national origin or sexual preference.
I've also read several stories of women feeling the heat from their peers because they were voting Obama.
Both are wrong. No wonder people keep their votes to themselves. Why pressure people, when they get into the booth they will do whatever they want (unless it's a caucus, LOL).
You gotta change that icon to an obamatize bunny !
I'm pleased you returned to the old Icon. Although you're a talented painter, the other Icon --somehow -- just wasn't you, in my humble opinion.
Also, the NPR radio station in the San Francisco area is called KGO Newstalk, and I do listen to it whenever I'm in the car.
I'm glad you posted the information, especially for those who are not familiar with the Huffington Post -- the most popular blog in the the country.
I feel like a fool on that one. Let's talk privately, okay? (I'm ROFL). I was going 100mph, and wondered why the time stamps were so different.
Silly me!
Listen to this: There are people, people here on Gather who disconnected from me because they were Hillary supporters, and I was an Obama supporter.
Additionally Jared, I was all but crucified by a number of women for my outright refusal to support Hillary because she was a woman. I do know what it's like to be harassed and judged based on my choice of a candidate. Let me say this much. These people who do these things? They are NOT your friends. They do NOT care about you. These are NOT the actions of people who respect you, or who care about you. My attitude about these people? GO! GO fast, and GO forever. The sooner, the better. I do not have time for the pea brain mentality who would disconnect from me, and/or judge me based on my choices and/or opinions.
I also want to add -- thank you Mom and Dad -- that no member of MY family does this. What I mean is that no member of my family attacks another based on another's choice of candidate, or any of that kind of junk. It is soooo petty.
I would say it speaks volumes for one set of supporters, as much as it does for another set of supporters. I only hope that what we've heard is going on outside of Gather does not somehow permeate into Gather.
I wanted to set that record straight though, Jared, and if you want me to name names, I'll do that upstairs. Hell yes, I WILL name names of those here on Gather of whom I have personal knowledge involved in that Hillarious mess. GROW UP!
(laughing) Remember this: the Energizer bunny's battery shall inevitable lose power. What then, Ian?
I do not take the beliefs or choices other people make as a personal offense. The belief and choices are theirs, why would anyone personally attack someone because they believe differently? This is America, the land of freedom and choice. It is immature to think someone is choosing something different then you to give offense.
There are many Hilary , Bush, McCain supporters so what? I know my choice is the right one. I do not condemn others even tho' their choices differ from mine, some people are just not informed, or they are watching Fox news and really think it's real news. Rambling away Lady...
I have Carol growling at me. Why, oh why? But you and I are in total agreement, Carol. I am merely stating that I do not give a rat's butt what a person does or does not do when I know I have done nothing wrong,
or
when I have. . .
done the right thing.
I am not the one with the personal problem in that situation.
The person or people in question need to check themself/themselves.
So then, we are in total agreement, I do believe.
No need to growl.
Hope you enjoyed "Law and Order"!
I agree with you as well.
Today has been -- rather yesterday was an interesting day.
I've been to bed once already. I am ready to give it another shot.
I could not sleep, because of thinking about a number of things.
War, economy, war, economy, health care, war. . .
Maybe now the mind is clear enough so that I might sleep.
Or maybe I should put in some Agatha Christie tapes. . .ya think?
Go back to a simpler time -- a time of mystery, intrigue, and MURDER?
Ya think?
At any rate, Good morning to both of you -- to Carole, and to Pepsie.
I'm putting in Agatha Christie. It's a done deal.
Murder -- Christie style -- is less complicated than what goes on these days!
I---have---not---had---any---sleep. Thaaaaaat's right. I don't know why I cannot sleep. Maybe I should refill my prescription of Ambien CR, eh?
I do know that I am LMBO, so that is not the problem
I am here to serve you, and push out articles. There are things I need to do.
I am frightened about surprise visitors popping in, especially when they know better.
Now. . .
I know I have a plan. What yours? (LMBO)
Prima Donna, if you are serious about this, I'll let you in on my secret, but you must be REALLY motivated, as I am.
Here's one idea: we just start kissing up to Tom Gerace. I have a strong feeling that he is going to receive an invitation to next year's inaugural balls. Now, he may be able to help us. I am not a kisser-upper. But I want in to those balls, and Gerace is going to receive an invitation. What do you think?
To you, I say: Right on, and SOLID! Girlfriend!
Were I any looser, I would like overcooked spaghetti. It's part of being tired, I think.
Sleepless in San Francisco. Eventually, I shall sleep. I promise. Let's be productive while the eyelids are yet open. Thank you Pepsie!
Thank you, Sheila!
