An Ambiguous Color Called Aqua...

I wanted to announce the new color for Rainbow Connections - Colorful Competitions before I went to bed. I am not feeling well and fighting an infection so this will be brief and decidedly non-creative. First of all, please help me congratulate the winner of last week's Pink Theme if you haven't already. You'll find a list at Pink Sky at Night - Sailor's Delight. 

After having so many exceptional pink posts last week and having to pass over many excellent photos that really should have been winners just to keep the list to ten, I have decided on a color that may be a little more challenging.

Aqua... turquoise... aquamarine... a color that reached its peak of popularity in the 50s and 60s when it came to home decor. Some of you probably remember aqua appliances.

More recent aqua associations include aqua glass, gem stones, water, spas... soothing, calming images all.

And with that, I'm off to surround myself with soothing thoughts in my bedroom, which has aqua drapes, by the way.

I can't wait to see what you all will come up with next!

Now that is a fun color and another one of my favs, but I can't think of a single flower in that color.

Thanks Ellie and Tanya, I have my first ever kidney infection. I had an EKG yesterday I was feeling so bad and they drew blood to check me out for a bunch of other things. Hopeefully the antibiotic will kick in soon so I start feeling better. Another busy week ahead.

That's correct, Gary. Turquoise is pretty much the same as aqua, too.

Feel better! I got a new computer and I can't resize pictures or watermark them. I need new software that will work on my new MAC. That means I probably won't get to submit anything til I get new software, unless I break down and set up the PC desk top. It's been about three weeks now of being able to do nothing but email!

Sherry, I hope you get to feeling better. I have suffered with these all my life and have learned Cran Actin works GREAT. I usually drink a lot of Cranberry juice too, but NO SUGAR 100% juices. Feel better my friend!

I love aqua. My downstairs bathroom was obviously decorated in the 50s as it has aqua wall tile. I didn't have the heart to change it when we remodeled because it is one of my favorite colors.

Aqua Vita! I do hope you are feeling better and that lots of elegant aqua photos are coming in to cool your brow. It is a colour I cherish and have lots of jewellery in it so should get a sort of them for you and not just the majestic ocean.
