The New York Sun is reporting that some well-known Republicans are endorsing Obama because of his opposition to the Iraq war. The endorsers include a former senator of Rhode Island, Lincoln Chafee; a former senior Justice Department official under President Reagan and senior legal adviser to Mitt Romney's presidential campaign, Douglas Kmiec, and a granddaughter of President Eisenhower, Susan Eisenhower. According to the Sun, the group one day may include Senator Hagel, a Republican of Nebraska, who has co-sponsored Iraq withdrawal legislation with leading Democrats. Asked on CNN whether he would endorse his party's presumptive nominee, Mr. Hagel said he would base his support on the candidates' positions on withdrawing from Iraq.

Moyer was quoted on Friday in the Centre County Times. "...I think Barack Obama is more skilled at getting people together. ... I just think he's our best hope for avoiding gridlock in Washington and getting some practical things done. It's basically a pragmatic decision: He's the best man for the job."
And Hagel, he's nothing. He's a RINO. He might as well retire and get his butt out of the Republican party.
You are certainly entitled to your beliefs, however.
I have to agree that one-issue voting seems wrong to me. There are too many concerns. I am very concerned about health care in this country. The people who have insurance are being denied benefits by a greedy and irresponsible industry. The people who don't have insurance have less and less options. And, we are falling behind the world with respect to infant mortality. So, we are paying much for health care and getting very little.
Another important concern is the economy. I think we can finally put to rest the notion that deregulation works. Too many companies have shown to be misguided and outright criminal when left to their own devices. I don't see a Republican administration taking care of this problem. I see Obama doing something about it - if only to work with Congress to regulate these industries again.
'He looks a little like Alfred E. Newman', lol
