Graphics in comments

Good question. The reason I'd have to say that sometimes there are too many of them in articles that I read with a lot of comments (especially), is that there are still many people on dial-up here and it takes forever to load all the graphics. Smaller ones are pretty much OK and do liven up the posts though.

I think they're cute. I am on cable so not a problem for me. The larger ones might trouble people on dial up.

I wished I knew how to make them.

I like graphics in comments, but typically prefer a small to medium size. Larger images or images with a lot of animation also make the loading of comments more difficult for members with slower internet connections.

I don't know how to leave graphic comments, I really like yours.

I like them all...but the bigger ones do take longer to load.

number 2 reminds me of my Jack Russel Tawanda LOL. I don't mind them in fact some of them I truly enjoy. I just don't think I would use them

I try and find smaller ones when I can to use. Sizes like 2 - 4. I tend to use 1 when I ping somebody.



Adding a graphic to a comment is easy. You just need to know the html code of the graphic and place it in the comment box. But you have to post something else as well.

I like them. They can be lots of fun!

They are fun to see in messages

You can easily change the size of any graphic image you post to a comment. This won't make the comments load faster, but it may be helpful when you find a large graphic you would like to use, if only it were a bit smaller.

You can also add images you have uploaded to Gather in your comments.

Here is a sample image URL or web address used to display an image in comments:

The above is the web address you paste into the comment box. The image then displays when you post the comment.

To change the size of this image, you simply need to tell Gather how wide you want the image to be. You do this by adding a short width command, width=

For example, width=350 will display the image with a width of 350 pixels, which is about 3/4 of the width of the comment box. You can easily add this command at several locations within the image URL. To illustrate:

<img src="http://glitter.com/glitterimage1.gif" width=350>


That's all there is to it!

Note: Image width should be limited to a maximum of 458 pixels to ensure proper display in most browsers.

I remember Fort Meyers. Used to vacation there, on the gorgeous beaches of Sanibel... and I remember a particularly nasty alligator...

I love the graphics. I prefer med-small ones just so they dont' take up too much space on someone's article so people don't have to scroll a lot.

I loved adding graphics, but at that time others were adding them too and it wound up being too much on one page for those on slower connections to load.

I'm on cable and they are never a problem for me.
