No we are not in a recession. We are just dreaming!

To think we have no leader current or proposed that has any idea as how to fix this - Not even the Central Bank AKA Federal Reserve, a private company. Shades of the 1930s.

Low-cost carrier Skybus Airlines said Friday that it was ceasing operations on Saturday, calling itself a victim of rising jet fuel costs and a slowing economic environment.

It isn't just fuel prices, it is flying in it'self, They lower the services, charge for everything, cram you in like sardines, changing planes, etc. fewer people are flying so business is off. Three airlines out of business in a week is quite a few maybe they should do something to make flying more attractive.

As far as the FED having ideas to fix it, they are a big cause of the problem. The less value in the dollar against other currencies the higher the cost of Oil to produce Jet Fuel and other oil products.

This isn't the first time though. I can't even remember the number of airlines that have failed over the years, even big ones. It is a tough business, and highly competitive for sure.

The scary part is the reverberation in job loss, lost revenue for equipment leases, etc, and impact on gate fee revenue losses for some airports. Just means we will all continue to pay more to fly.
