Suddenly

my thoughts became clear,

and with that,

I have finally released

the girl I am not.

a cloud of emotions,

most often full of storm

that consumed me,

and made me afraid.

feelings of love,

fierce and powerful,

like the crashing of backyard thunder,

knocking me to my knees.

but a new day dawns,

and the light shows me

that the damage is fixable.

the ground of my heart,

is warm,

and soft,

and nurturing

AND STRONG.

and the tearful rain

dries.

and i can see through eyes that have become clear...

Thank you Kimber.....it was written about a realization I had about the love I felt for a man who wasn't mine to love, nor am I available for him either. Yet the feelings were undeniable for me, and looking back now, I don't think he felt the same as I did, but I truly believed in him and it hurt me alot to realize that. I appreciate your comment, it does inspire me to write more. I recently started volunteering holding newborns in our local childrens hospital and i have a story to write about a baby boy i hold. Hope to get it posted soon.

My FAVORITE line is "I have finally released the girl I am not" That is elemental work. Such a nice progression of though. Thank you for sharing your heart with us Cindy.
