So many of you liked the photo and story of my feral cat rescue that I thought I'd finish the tale. The last installment ended with both kittens in the Animal Hospital being neutered, and the mother still loose AND pregnant again!
It was too cold on many days to try the hav-a-heart trap, (naturally I still fed her) and when it was warm enough she avoided entrapment until I simply stopped feeding her all together. After 3 days of that the freshly baited trap worked. She was calm in it when I took her to the Vets. She was aborted & spayed, and a feral cat domesticator (where did the Vet find someone like that?) took her to raise because I couldn't bear to see her released outside again, and I still couldn't get near her.

The kittens, on the other hand, arrived back from the vet and right into the house - as if to the Manor Born. And the house is bedlam! All the plants are either sat on or shat in, and kitty litter is all over the place. Everything that moves is a toy, even things one doesn't expect to move - like a kitchen chair! Everything that doesn't move, didn't move from lack of trying! Every night there is some CRASH! as a priceless heirloom (more likely an old knickknack) succumbs to the thundering herd of kitties racing throughout the house. Life certainly isn't dull.

Skeezix will jump into my lap IF I'm sitting on his favorite chair. He'll hop on and off until I get the hint and move. Neither he nor his sister Snuffy like to be picked up or held, but both come to be petted, and constantly remind me that I haven't fed them in years! It's a good move for them and me - all things considered - but I can't wait for Summer so my plants can get outside and repotted. When they do, I hope the kittens will follow me out the open door, but so far they show no interest in going outside. They just sit on the windowsills and rub wet noses on the glass as the birds fly by.

Thanks for all the concern and kind words - as you can see - the kitties are fine!Caption - Oh! TOYS!
FYI - There'll be someone minding them while I'm in France (4/10-4/22) and Florida (4/29-5/3.) Speaking of that, I'll be so busy I may not keep up with my correspondence here - I may not even have wi fi access (in Europe they pronounce it wee fee) so my apologies in advance if you all feel negelected. Things will get back to normal in May and I'll have the time to read and comment more often.

Gus thanks you for looking out for those less fortunate than he is.
