Lowry Park Zoo: The Goats (Photo Essay)

These are more the pictures I took at Lowry Park Zoo (Tampa, FL) this week. These are all from the petting zoo.  They had food you could feed them and one was very aggressive in wanting the food.  (If you want to see them full size, click on the photo to the right and scroll through.)

Okay, so this isn't really a goat, but it was in the petting zoo section.  They told people to stay away though, so I had to take it from a distance.

I drove by this zoo Sunday while my husband was at Wrestlemania, but I wasn't feeling good so I didn't go. I'll go next time we go down though because I love zoos!

I never went to the zoo until I was allmost 18, we just didnt have one close. When I lived close to one raising my children I tried to at least take them to petting zoo,s.

Mary, it is a great place for a field trip! We went there last year. I would recommend not letting them play in the water though! We had one child that had to go to the hospital because she slipped and fell on a rock playing n the water.

This is a great place. I enjoyed the trips I made there, back when I could walk well. My daughter still has some of the wax animals from the machines they had in the park. They have had events where the kids were able to spend the night at the zoo. The carousel was fun and the water area was always full of kids and fun for them. I hadn't heard anyone got hurt but water is slippery.

Looks like fun -- I always love the goats!
I like the brown and white patchy one.
Some family friends of ours had a very aggressive goat name Devil. Devil's thing was that he loved chips, especially corn chips. When they brought groceries home, they had to run across the yard with the bags so Devil wouldn't knock the groceries out of their hands and snork down all the snack items.

Looks fun. My kids love the petting zoo part at our local zoo too. Speaking of which we need to take them to the zoo again soon. Will have to plan that.

I love the goats. The sad thing is the Madison zoo closes the petting zoo down until Memorial day.

GOATS! I love goats! I have goats! Over 120 of them. I'll have to take some pictures of my spotted goats.

Dorothy that will be fun. Do they call the one like in the last picture roan or what? I know in dogs they can be roan or merle depending on the breed.
