Chai Girl says thank you for all the ideas for natural cures for cats you shared yesterday.
I did take her to the vet and and she checked out to be fine in every way except for being wacked out about being at the vets office. She was not happy. She did express some new sounds, 'words', I'd never heard from her (she is a big talker) on the way to the vet.
They did question me about plants. The main vet there where I took her has a cat who is deathly ill because of an Eater Lily. Lillies are lethal to cats, even the dander (that is the word I read on line) from a lily can give a cat kidney failure even if they never ate a leaf or even sniffed it.
The vet gave me some mild food for upset tummies and I finally gave it to her but it had corn stuff in it and I've made a point of not giving my cats anything with corn or wheat in it for a while now.
Today she has turned her nose up at it and been eating regular food and playing like crazy instead of lazing around so she is back to normal.
Surprise Surprise they didn't push getting shots, just asked if she was an inside only cat.
A lot different than the last time I was there.
I did go to the pet supply store I get my cat stuff at and they had a new cat food with no grains at all and no corn that is a higher protein content than I'd seen before.
I've been feeding them Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul http://www.chickensoupforthepetloverssoul.com/ which is all natural and I've been happy with.
The new one is called Taste of the Wild http://www.tasteofthewildpetfood.com/ which has "No Corn, no Soy, no By-Products, completely grain free and unique protein sources..."
It has 12% more crude protein than the brand I've been using and since cats are carnivores and protein should be the main part of their diet that sounds good to me.

We had been using Chicken soup ever since the Great Pet Food Poisoning and I just switched to the Taste of the Wild in the last month. They love it and I haven't been cleaning up barf. It seems to be a good food.
