I have some treasured objects that I thought I would share with you. First is a chunk of amber that my son mined on one of his trips to the south west or Mexico. He offered to cut it up & make jewelry pieces for me but I said no. I love to hold it & feel the warmth. It's 2 1/2 inches long by 2 inches wide.

I keep the amber in this amulet. The amulet was hand made for me by an indian friend of my son. I don't know what his nation is but I think it's beautiful.

In Mexico there is an indian that makes moccasins for the individual. I didn't go but my son took a drawing from around my foot & had these made for me. They are the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. I wear them a lot when I travel.

The sole is actually made from bicycle tires. I was skeptical at first but couldn't believe how easy they are to walk in and they just don't wear out.

Next is a scarf that a Japanese lady painted for me. I watched her free hand this and it took her about 5 minutes. I had been admiring some baby pigs, so she put the pig on it.

And then there is the little nutcracker. We spent several hours watching a wood shop make different things. We had to leave before this one was finished but the man said it would be done next day. He saved it for me and I picked it up the next afternoon.

Hope you enjoyed my treasures. I'll have to unbox some others & put them in a future article.
Most will be displayed when I finish remodeling my home.
