I was going to get to spend the night at Grandma's house, which is always fun. My Grandma told me my nail polish was starting to chip away. It looked kind of grubby. So Grandma asked me if I wanted a mani-peti.
"What's that Grandma?"
Well, I found out.
Grandma cleaned all my fingers and toes really well, and my hands and feet too. Then she did all kinds of things to them. She filed the nails on my fingers AND toes. She put a special cream on my feet and rubbed and rubbed them. That felt pretty good. And she cleaned under my fingernails.
Then she gave me careful instructions on how to hold my hands, how to be really still. It was difficult for me to reach all the way across the table and be perfectly still while Grandma polished my nails. It took a really long time. I thought I wasn't going to make it.
Grandma let me pick my own color. I liked the light pink I had on earlier but it wasn't sparkly. So I picked a deep pink polish with sparkles. I LOVE the sparkles. When I showed my friends at school, the boys didn't care and the girls just looked and looked at my beautiful nails. And the best part is that my toes and fingers match. No wait, the best part is the sparkles.
Olivia is my four year old niece. And yes, she is the diva in training that she sounds like. Even so, she was very excited to actually publish an article on the internet. She let me know that it is pronounced "internet", not web or net. Just think what she will be like at five.
And we apologize. I downloaded phots of the finished fingernails and toenails and now I can't find them. So Olivia's first article will be sans photos. So sorry.
