Oprah and Eckhart?

Anyone doing the Oprah and Eckhart MOnday Night Class?  I download it on Tues and put it on my MP3 player.

Would love comments from anyone following along.  With 4 million people involved, gotta be some Gatherites doing it too.

I've heard about it but hadn't gotten around to getting the book. I usually start things later than most, about a year behind fads! Not that this is a fad.

Eckhart Tolle wrote a book called, The New Earth, Awakening to Your Life's Purpose:.

On Monday nights he and Oprah do a class based on the book. Over 4 million people from all around the world, log on at 9:00 central for the class. It's live on the internet. It's amazing how this book has changed people's lives.

I never got into Oprah's show and all her little projects. Every day at work another lady there tells us all what happened on the previous night's show anyway. :)

There is at least one Gather Group getting together about that ... I believe it is for an hour every Tuesday evening ... there is usually about a 100 comments but seldom very deep.

I started on the 'spiritual path to knowing' quite a bit ago and still find it interesting.

I like to watch the video on Oprah's website but I find the book a little hard to read for a long period of time. It talks a lot about the ego and I think a lot of the info. is very useful even though what he talks about is nothing new- it has been around for hundreds of years. It's just repackaged and happens to have caught Oprah's attention.

I agree with you Angella. It isn't new--and I find the book hard to stay with but I'm enjoying listening to the class on my MP3 a day or so later.

My novel, 'The House of Annon' is about the same thing except not ego. It's about using the power within to change our lives or to improve our lives.

One thing I did realize from reading the book is the difference between 'me' and 'ego'. Very interesting perspective.

Mary we have been friends since you started and I made sure to come and visit every day to lift your spirits. you are doing very well now. But I do miss your visits.
By the way I did like Oprah but really am not much interested in her now. I dont think News casters and talk show host should publically choose sides in an election. I think they should do like the rest of us. Go to the polls and cast our vote. To me that is kinda like asking the viewing public to take sides. that is what the Candidates are out there knocking on doors and making public speaches for. Sorry I just really dont watch any TV anymore but the news and Lifetime, No tapes or CD,s
