Daily Whine & Shine - April 4, 2008

Whether you agree with the concept or not, everyone needs to be able to vent from time to time. That's especially true if you're one of the many who suffer from an invisible illness. We have whines and rants about pains, medical professionals and prescriptions, just to name a few. Perhaps our families listen; perhaps they don't. Even if they do, they get tired of our complaining, even if they claim to understand our constant struggles. Or if they don't get tired of our "negative energy" we think they do or will.

You have arrived!  You didn't mean to be here?  Well, sit a spell anyway.  Surely you have something that makes you want to yell, scream, jump up and down and yell, "Oh shuckie darn!"

But I'm betting you also have at least one thing that makes you smile, giggle, or shout, "Yippee skippy!"

I have my pre-op tomorrow at the hospital in preparation for my surgery on Tuesday. I hate the whole thing and really want to back out but I just can't. I have a dumb ovarian mass that is growing [so creepy!] and it needs to be removed before the thing turns on me so, gotta do it. The whole situation makes me feel VERY whiney indeed!

Hang in there Teresa, all will be well! My gripe is a lot less significant. We had the plumber in yesterday, I thought it would be a case of just replacing a washer in a faucet, but nooooo. Apparently to do the job "right" the whole thing has to be replaced, at hefty cost of course! So the guy wastes my time for an hour, going over "options." I tell him forget it, and guess what? He replaced the washer--15 minutes--$188.00, Arghhhhh!

Teresa, I'll be thinking of you and hoping the operation goes well and you feel better right away. Operations are no fun.

I am turning my whine into a shine. Mywhine is that I can't sleep. I waited too long ro reorder my trazadone, and the new supply hasn't come yet. I take only half a pill each night, but it seems to make the difference in being able to turn my mind off and go to sleep. I get my meds in the mail because it's cheaper, and they can send three months supply at a time. But if I had been sleeping, I wouldn't be up watching TV and I would have missed this delightful old Spencer Tracey movie. It's called "The Actress" and costars Jean Simmons, Anthony Perkins and Theresa Wright. I'ts really good!

Good moring, I am not looking forword to the long drive today to go get a new windshield, it is no fun riding with my husband.lol. Even worse being without my car.

Take care all, no whine on my part but plenty of shine, I think I go on a bike ride today and listen to some of my favorite music on the drive to work this morning.

Good morning. Very happy about Friday at this point. I have no plans for the weekend other than helping my kids stay rested. Me too I guess.

Kay, sorry about the plumber thing. We (mostly my son and hubby with me a bit) fixed a clog in our kitchen sink and a leak. Total cost to us was maybe $50 in materials - including the snake thingey to put down the drain. But....it took almost a week! I have dishes piled up in the sink. Guess I'll be doing them all day today. That and seeing about getting my car fixed. And trying to find the title to the other car in the backyard...which will be gone on Saturday morning.

I have many whines this morning but when I get like this I try to count my blessings. I took on 2 teenage grandsons 4 months ago. My exdaughter in law didn't want to be bothered with them any more. However she is keeping their child support money. We will have to take her to court to get it. The boys were failing in school but in the 4 months I've had them they are now getting nothing below a C+. I love them to pieces and I'm so proud of them but they are really wearing me out. I think all teens should be sent to Mars until they are at least 25, if you know what I mean. LOL

Hi all I am doing ok today but wrestled a headach all night due to the meds I am on for the bronkitus left from the pnamonis I had several weeks ago. Can not win for lossing but the good thing about it is I do not plan on giving up on this quite yet. I will stop back later and check on you all.

the sun is shiniing and on the warm side, but it is April 4 so I'll keep a low profile and hope to get through the day without to mcuh heartache.

I'm pretty happy today, as we got the new R.E.M. album last night, and it's good. Also, one of my co-workers is taking myself and the office manager out to lunch today, as a thanks for helping her with a big project the past couple of weeks. Plus, I had a good day at work yesterday (in terms of good news), so I'm still floating on that. :)

Nancy, bless your heart. I do know what you mean. A youth director at our church in TX said that boys have a second "terrible two" stage from about 15 to 17. Mine sure did.

Marilyn i think you missunderstood what i mean about my not giving up I meant I was not giving up on trying to get better. But now that you mintion it being on line is at least the one great thing about my life not counting my spunky kids as I call the people in that picture I posed you commented on. By the way I saw another article you commented on abvout a site that sounded neet what is BT.
