Product Review: Bzzing about Oust Surface Disinfectant and Air Sanitizer

Well it is Bzz Agent time and this time it is Oust Surface Disinfectant and Air Sanitizer - -

The Bottom Line
If you are in need of a product that will disinfectant and not over power you with it's smell you found it.  Oust is a good product and is working great for me. I am using it on door knobs, the steering wheel in my vehicle, commode handles, telephone receivers, etc.    This product  is advertised as capable of killing 99.9% of Germs and Viruses on hard, non-porous surfaces.

The can lists several bacterias that it will kill. Some of them are Staphylococcus oureus (staf), Salmonella enterica, Listeria monocytogenes, Enterococcus faecalis, and a few others. They also claim to kill viruses that linger on some surfaces. The viruses they kill are Rotovirus, the leading cause of infectous diahrea in children and other viruses like this one. Fungi are also killed by this disinfectant.

The directions are very straight forward. You must shake the can before every use. To kill germs in the room you should close off all windows, vents and doors. Spray in the air toward the ceiling for about 10 seconds. This will deodorize and sanitize a room the size of 12 X 12 X 9. Wait a few more seconds for the spray to settle and then resume normal use of the room.

To disinfect hard, non porous surfaces pre clean them. After they are clean spray Oust surface and air sanitizer on the surface until wet. To sanitize this type of surface just leave the Oust on for 30 seconds. To inhibit the growth of mold leave the surface air dry.

Triethyleneglycol 6.0%
N-Alkyl (40% C12, 50% c14, 10%c16)
Dimethyl benzyl ammonium saccharinate 0.2%
Inert ingredients 93.8 %

I particulaly like that is disinfects surfaces and sanitizes the air and kills 99.9% of germs and viruses on hard and non-porous surfaces.
