Amazon launches Payment sytem

Amazon has launched a system similar to PayPal, that will allow people to use their Amazon accounts to pay for things from other stores. They also have a widget for Amazon Payments that you can put on your website to sell your own books and items, even if they are not on Amazon. Since my book is on Amazon, I  was pleased to be able to put a button on my website under the Ghost to Coast picture so that people can just click and buy.

I realize it seems as though Amazon is trying to take over a lot of markets, but at least this one is useful.

This does sound like a very useful tool. I have several books for sale on Amazon. Will have to go check this out. Thanks for the info!

Ooh, that will be nice to use money from Amazon to buy other stuff online--we usually have used books to sell on there every month or two! :) I normally just have it transferred to our bank account.

ANY competition for Paypal is a good thing. I hate that company. Ugh. They've never gotten me personally, but I've read enough horror stories to avoid them at all costs. I'd NEVER link my bank account to Paypal.

I sell used books on eBay but buy a ton for myself from Amazon (as well as eBay, of course). It's always been a pain that I can't pay directly from Paypal. Wish they accepted Paypal since my eBay payments often go straight there and it's easy to use that money without ever seeing it. (Perhaps too easy...which is kinda related to the spooky movie line, "It's too quiet.")
