My sister is a nanny for twin boys in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They are in 2nd grade and recently finished reading the book Flat Stanley. Their class project was to make and send their own Flat Stanley's to someone in another state! We had Flat Stanley come visit us here in Idaho.
Here is the letter we sent back to Calvin, along with all the pictures and information we gathered for him!
Dear Calvin,
Thank you so much for sending Flat Stanley to visit us here in Idaho. We had a great time with him and hope he had as much fun as we did. He arrived on Saturday, March 22nd, the day before Easter. We had an Easter egg hunt in the snow!

We also took Flat Stanley to the Idaho sign,

the Purcell Trench,

the Museum of North Idaho,

the water falls,

the Lewis and Clark Trail along the Clearwater River

and muddin' at Ma and Pa's house!

We were sure to take lots of pictures so he could share his trip with you when he got home!

We gathered lots of information about Idaho for you and sent it back with Flat Stanley. We hope that you will learn some new things about Idaho that you didn't know before.
The t-shirt is for you to wear to school on the day you have to share Flat Stanley's trip with your classmates. And the Idaho Spud candy bar is for you to show your class as well, you might even give it to your teacher as a gift. Did you know that Idaho had a candy bar?
And we couldn't let Flat Stanley leave before getting his picture taken with some Idaho potatoes!

We hope to visit with you and Stanley again very soon!
Love from Idaho,

It not only helps the flat Stanley family. It makes the host family do things as a family so Flat Stanley can have fun while he is visiting!
Flat Pink Panther has gone to Maine, Illinois and Alaska
Flat Jeremiah has gone to Illinois and Washington State.
This is really fun
