My daughter works in the youth deptartment at our public library. She likes cookbooks about as much as I do. When she saw this book she had to check it out and bring it home to share with me. We both enjoy cooking from several of the Mollie Katzen cookbooks we have.  I had heard Katzen had written a couple children's cookbooks but hadn't had the pleasure of looking through any of them. Her other two are Pretend Soup and Honest Pretzels.  Both of these books are said to have become "standard fare thoughout the country in homes and classrooms alike." (from back of Salad People)

There are 20 fun, creative vegetarian recipes included in this book that would be perfect to make with your preschooler or young children. Each recipe was tested  by a child. The recipes make the child the chef and the adult becomes the assistant. This book would be a fun way to encourage your child to eat his veggies after playing with their food.

There is a page with kid's rules for cooking. Each recipe has a beginning note called The Critics Rave, which includes wise words from the children testers. These are cute to read. If you have the pleasure of cooking with young children this would be a fun book to have in your collection. The pictures in this book are really nice as well.
