- Jumping Rope – This is the most basic and fun exercise that you can start off with. Start off with about twenty jumps a day and slowly build it up so that you can do a minimum of twenty minutes a day.
- Box Jump – This is also an easy exercise for beginners learning how to jump higher. All you need is a box on which you can jump on and off. You will have to jump on to the box with both legs and then jump backwards on to the floor. It is important that you jump back with the same force as you jump on. This way your explosive power can be worked on completely. You can increase the height that you jump by adding another box on top of the existing one. This way you can increase your vertical jump slowly but surely.
- Slalom Jump – For this exercise, you would require a piece of string. Or you could draw a line on the floor with chalk. Or you could just imagine that there is a line on the floor. Basically what you need to do is jump from one side of the line to the other and back again in quick succession. There is no need to jump high for this exercise. You need to concentrate on making short and fast jumps.
