Attacked by a Goose

I went to the doctor's today to get my diagnosis for the pain in my hip.  I got out of the car and this goose was sitting in front of door.  I got out and took these photos.  The goose didn't appreciate me and after charging a man who pushed him away with his MRI images and an old lady with a cane, it came after me.  Finally, I retreated to safety of the doctor's office.  She flew at me and hit me with her three foot wing span.  It hurt.

I asked the doctor about the goose.  He told me, the goose and the goose's husband had their nest removed so they would leave.  They won't leave.  They want their nest.  They've been there for a week.  It broke my heart.  A doctor should have more heart, but in his defense, animal control won't come out, and the geese are harassing his patients who like me can't walk.

 

I, of course, think the geese are awesome.

By the way, I have arthritis in back along with fibromyalgia.  Maybe that's why I hurt.  Ya think???

Wow, a guard goose at the doctor's office, can't be good for business! I'm sorry about your pain :-(

Gees, that's kind of a Catch 22 situation there, isn't it? Sad for the goose, and bad for the patients!

I also have fibro and arthritis mostly in my neck (badly) and some in my back. Ain't it swell? ;-D

Why can't anything exciting like this happen to me when I go to the doctors? I get out of the car and it's an uneventful walk through the parking lot.

Great shot. They really need to do something about the goose though. Someone will get violent with it sooner or later.

geese are very protective of their nests and can get very vicious. there was one who had a nest above a mall entrance in NJ and it bit a few people, but they wouldn't move the nest.

Poor Goose just wants her nest! Hopefully she'll figure it out before someone gets hurt. I hope your hip gets better.

I feel bad for the goose. But those Canadian geese are bossy anyway....;)

Geese are downright mean, but they are so loyal to their mate and their babies. It must be breaking their hearts.

I think that arthritis and fibro just might break the pain barrier. Sorry to hear it hon.

Poor geese. Why won't animal control come for them? Maybe they're afraid of geese!

It's too bad animal control won't relocate the geese to a less populated area.

Carol, I'm sorry you're in so mych pain. I just hope they don't hurt one of the geese. They mate for life. I hope they hadn't laid eggs in the nest that was removed. Wasn't there a way they could have just moved the nest over instead of removing it? I feel sorry for everyone, the geese, the patients, and even the doctor.
