As I explained in my article "Jump into Spring", Lynne M. is the mother of one of my kindergarten students in the A.M. class. She takes incredible portraits and I wanted to share some of her work here. Lynne has reservations about sharing them on her site because the parents in my class gave permission only to me to post children's photos on the internet. I love how she captures a moment in time...and through her eyes see the innocence and wonder of childhood.

Kathryn: The icon picture of the forsythias and pussywillows in a vase is a shot I took last March. But I do have flowering forsythia down by the carpark on the southside of the house now....my bushes on the north are still in the bud stage.
Yup, Lynne...you definitely need to rethink your life path. Your photos are better then someones I have seen in Gap Kids and "Child" magazine. Start a portfolio now.
what a wonderful photo essay. I lovew the shots of the children, I like the guy with the hat over his eye going down the slide They are very intense when they work aren't they?
Wonderful photos Lynne, my favorite is of Mrs. E., One of her amazing talents is how she listens so intently to what each child has to say. She gives each child the respect of allowing them time to share their words. She has great patients and it is wonderful gift to the children because she allows them to be heard.
The stories I hear at circle time, Bridget. We have had some wonderful discussions about life, death, divorce, where babies come from, what God looks like, and why one "never should go in a Mom's pocketbook". I listen and only offer that information that I think they are capable of dealing with at the moment. Though teaching academics at circle time is important...I believe the time we spend talking about life issues is just as invaluable. Are we not here to teach the "whole child"? They have a thousand questions floating through their minds...if we listen close enough, do we not hear their hearts speaking?
Grems, the guy that is going down the slide with the hat, is a doll. He is a wonderful little boy with the most pleasing ways. He asks great questions and he always contributes positive info at circle time.
Kids are so cool. They're all so different, so unique. I wouldn't mind having about six of them. I'll probably settle with just the two I've got though. Don't think hubby would go for six. LOL Great photos.

Your boy is ALWAYS wonderful in school...kind, considerate and just a "Helpful Harry"!
They are our leaders of tomorrow and it's their money that will be paying for our care in the Nursing Home...we best mentor them well!
