Should we have kept our simple kisses in a jar
And not left our hearts to wander the moonlit night
Letting promised passions drift skyward on each star
Falling Earthbound gifting our hearts such needed light
Throwing caution to the wind as smiling delight
Like flowers blooming in sensing our warmth ignite
Avenues of seduction forming whispered mists
Exploring rainbow hues bequeathed to navigate
Deep breaths resound with joys given as the sun kissed
Edges of forever opening dreamer's gate
As the gentle meadows stretched down the lane of bliss
And soon dawning moments finding petals of love
Gazing from your trusting eyes peaceful as a dove
Harmonize you birds and bees this magical night
Rhapsodies are singing wonderful lilting tunes
Together this beginning for us in shared life
Promise my soul has given to enjoy many moons
For better or worse is love always meant for you
With a simple kiss daily love blossomed renewed
Sailing through the Summer breeze raising our children
Up and down on life's highway always hand in hand
Surveying the horizon life touched sky and then
Morning knows this river runs to that distant sand
Nothing is forgotten of resplendent starlight
And when darkness comes your heart holding me so tight

The image of the "simple kisses in a jar" makes me think of catching fireflies on summer nights and then setting them free to light up the darkness the way love ignited lights it up in your poem!
Maybe you should write romantic greeting cards or will you be adding this to your book of poetry?
My fav lines are many in this but this onePromise my soul has given to enjoy many moons
For better or worse is love always meant for you
With a simple kiss daily love blossomed renewed
are truly adorable...I wish I could write like this..
I, too, rework and edit for hours. Then I put it away and come back with fresh eyes and ideas.
I never edit or write mine on paper, just put them up straight from my head, maybe that is why I will never be a great writer like all you other friends.
Blessings to you and yours...

Best of all, William,, it reminded me of how much I love my own wife!
and impassioned voice that is gorgeously structured into
an elegant embrace of your beloved. The intricate
and sensitive wording speak to a relationship that grows
within every breath to always expand into even more
heavenly fare than even the stars could ever hope
to translate. You give me faith that romance will never die.
Congratulations William.
Thank you for your continued support of SKYWARD with your beautiful poetry and articles.
Moonlight kisses
Twinkle through the years.
Lovely, William.
William. This really touched my heart, oh to be loved like this
but that wasn't meant for me. Your wife sure is a lucky lady.
