MMM, banana bread.

mmmm, banana bread sounds heavenly. I should be cutting my own hair, I am tired of having it long, so went medium, now I am thinking it will be getting warm, I have curly hair, ok, here on the coast it is likely to become...uh, yep nappy is a good description. LOL but then I don't have to work at it too much.

Oprah's hair dresser says to look younger, one should have hair curling about the face, not pulled back into a pony tail. LOL

But then, who knows... it takes me forever to make up my mind. Post pics of your hair when you get it all a nice red shade, ok?

Black looks good on you. When I can be bothered I dye mine red too.

Ugh nothing exciting. We are taking Ashes (new pet) back to the vet for $50 more of treatments for a condition that he had in pet shop (that flaired up within 24 hours of coming here)

I highlight my own hair also. I feel like why so I pay someone a huge amount of money for something that I can do at home for about $7. And it looks just as good.

I am doing laundry and a little bit of packing I think. I also need to do at least one load of dishes since I never seem to remember to do them when my husband is working as much as he's been working lately (he normally does them). Besides that, I will probably just be doing the same stuff I always do. If it doesn't snow tonight, and it's warm enough, I might take Elliott to the park for a while.

As far as your hair goes, I don't know if you will be able to color over the black or not. That depends on what brand you are using now, and what brand you have used in the past. Black can be really hard to get rid of, though! I think while I am home I might get some lighter colored high lights in my hair, but not too light, because I know I can't get foils in my hair right, and I don't like the cap, so it will have to be something that will look ok when it grows out. I don't trust anyone up here with my hair either! I did get a hair cut while I was in Missouri last June, but the last time before that was right after my son was born, and she messed it up. I don't think I will be letting anyone but my best friend from cosmetology school cut it again anytime soon!

Hi Faith! I actually really liked the way your hair looked on your wedding pictures. I think short hair would really suit you, but then again, long hair suits you as well. Hmm, red..I am curious about how you would look with red hair, so do post some pictures on Gather please!

My Monday is gone already. Didn't do anything too much out of the ordinary. Except I actually went to the gym after a long break..and not just to have a shower, I worked out for over 40 minutes! Plus at work my boss is on leave and my co worker is away sick for over two weeks now.. I am the only one working for three, it was quite intense and exhilarating at the same time.

Nothing exciting for Monday. Work as normal.

I have to change the batteries in the smoke detectors before I leave for work. I got to wait for the kids to get up to change them. One started chirping at two this morning. Scared the crap out of the dog. He woke me up by laying across my chest. Finally convinced him to go down stairs and out. It started raining, he stayed out in the rain instead of coming in with the chriping. It took a lot to get him to come back in out of the rain. He is upstairs hiding right now. I'm really tired right now. Only had about four hours sleep.

Not sure what to tell you about the hair coloring thing. I have been debating about dying mine. I want to go with a red, but not sure what shade of red yet.

I think that it can be fun to change your hair color! Mine is mostly white/gray which is really hard to cover. Have fun with it and post a photo of your hair and the banana bread!

That's too funny. I haven't been to the salon in years myself for the same reason. This lady dyed my hair red after I specifically told her I did NOT want it red. She kept telling me how much I looked like her daughter and how it would look great the way she had in her mind. I even had a picture of what I wanted-the one and only time I have ever been specific about what I wanted at the salon.
Needless to say-I now cut my own hair in the shower and finally let all the color grow out. Then asked myself why the hell had I dyed it all those years-I like my natural color the best.

Hi Faith! I'm the same as you when it comes to the hair salon. Why are they all so darn scissor happy? If I tell them an inch, they cut two or three. I haven't been to a salon in years. I cut it myself and color it myself too. I like what I do with it better than anyone else who has touched it. No, it isn't perfect...but neither am I...lol....so we go well together....:)

Banana bread...mmmm....I want some!

Today I'm going to catch up on Gather and continue on my task of eliminating the clutter from my house. I'm carrying two trash bags a day out of here....to give away or throw away.

Good luck with the hair situation Faith, it seems like you've had a traumatic hair salon episode.

I have to agree with Joanna on the black hair though. I used to be a hair model, and at some point my hair was black (My hair is blond (dirty/golden) naturally). Well, after that there was no going back. In order to get a different color, they basically had to bleach away the color, and they had to do it quite a few times. They never got it back to natural though, but they left it at strawberry blond. They then told me they wanted to give my hair some rest before they did anything else to it, and they said the best thing I could do was sit by the pool all summer. I did just that. I got a babysitting job, where one of the duties were to take the kids to swimming lessons every morning. After the summer my hair was blond again. Despite the perks of being a hair model, I decided that it was time to stop. It took a few years before my hair grew back to normal by itself, and it has never been colored since. I never regretted going black though. After having been blond all my life, I was amazed to see how going dark changed people's perception of me. I never realized before this that people actually do consider blonds to be a bit dumb.

I am doing nothing exciting today, just sitting around with the kids. They are all home for spring break. If the weather is nice I may go walking with them or go outside and watch them play. Other than that I am going to be lazy, LOL!!!
I have never dyed my hair, thought about it many times, but I really like the color it is now. It is really black, looks red in the sun.
I am growing my hair out now, been keeping it short the past 4 years so decided it was time for a change. I think I picked the wrong time to decide this, LOL!!!
I would like to see what you look like with red hair, so post pics up when you are done.

Tomorrow is April 1st and we have zero signs of Spring. In fact we got 10" of new snow over the weekend!

Cooked all day. I know what you mean about "professionals." I actually am a beauty-school drop out! I have been cutting and coloring my own hair for years.
Don't let your hair go too long without at least trimming the ends. It will look and feel a lot fuller. I too am indecisive about what to do next with my color. I'm thinking of going red(auburn) too. Make sure you test for allergies before coloring your hair. Good luck.

My Mother came to see me today. She stayed about three hours. It is the first time she has been to visit me in a long time. :)

I wrote about Lunch Lady action figures here on Gather and a lot of people seemed to relate, brought up memories of school lunches. Oh, yeah, I read the script for that movie Juno and that truly rocked! The author used to be a stripper and yes, she has tons of tattoos and a wild and crazy and wonderful writing style.

The movie should show up in my mailbox someday.

Tomorrow I have to write about where I was when Martin Luther King was killed :(
