Gather needs a poetry filter!

Don't you just love it when you see an interesting title on a Gather article, then click the link only to find someone's bad poetry? This site needs to have some kind of notification for when people post poetry. That way, I won't ever had to read it!

I have nothing against poets or poetry, but I just don't want to read and comment on them here. Is that mean?

I try to remember to add (poem) to the poetry I post. But of course I don't write bad poetry....

I don't think it's mean. I think all the articles should have an identifier, like Poetry, Commentary, Game. That way we could avoid those things that really don't interest us. And I REALLY think there should be something marked Link Only for those articles that are not articles at all.

I like poetry, and write it, but sometimes it do wish people would clearly mark articles as poetry.

What a mean Grinch, ha ha. I have a really fast PC and cable, so if not interested it is no real problem for me, but I have heard people with dial-up connections complain before. Sometimes I like poetry, just don't understand half of them, or how to comment on after.
Personally, I think the issue comes back to groups, and how Gather doesn't make it easy to organize or surf through the ones we belong to... tedious, which is too bad.

I have nothing against poetry, it's just that I'm not going to take the time to read it. Once I open an article, though, I kinda feel obligated to rate and comment.

Ha, I don't feel obligated.. though I'll admit, if I'm connected with the person, I'm more apt to read something than if not connected. Guilt? Maybe, ha ha.
I have this neat optical mouse for my PC, it has a "back button" that is on the side for use with the thumb... really cool, no need to move the cursor around. I love it!

This put a smile on my face because I've kinda thought this myself. Free speech and all, but I don't have to read it all. Sometimes something will catch my eye and I'll read it, but man there is just so much of it on here. But then again, I have a lot of artwork that is the same style, so who am I to talk...
