This dream occurred the morning I flew home from Michigan.
In the dream I was told that "musicians were to get to the airport early, as you need to take an earlier flight to be ready for the performance." I then bustled about making sure I had my black skirt and white blouse packed (I have never in real life worn these for any occasion other than waitressing, as a teen!--perhaps the b&w signify "reality"). I felt a sense of urgency to get going.
When I awoke, I still felt that sense of urgency. I decided to go an hour earlier to the airport, hoping to catch an earlier flight. When I got there, unfortunately there were no more flights earlier than mine on my airline. As a matter of fact, my flight ended up being delayed, so I decided to delay my second flight, as I probably would be unable to catch it. There was a lot of wind in Grand Rapids, and in Chicago as well, causing the delays. Fortunately there were no significant problems. I ended up getting home at 11:30 p.m. instead of an earlier time.
DUH--I could have called the airline when I woke up to see if I could have gotten an earlier flight and avoided the delays!!
Have you paid heed to any warning dreams?

This very subject was part of the discussion on Coast to Coast with Art Bell last night. I think many people have such pre-cognitions. I can't recall any myself.
Hey, I was on a flight with Jerry Ford once. Despite all the security types hanging around the plane door, I had no clue about this till I got off the plane (I was fighting off tears at the time). Again, I was in Grand Rapids when he came home for good (to be interred).
Thanks for commenting, Jerri and Samantha. I think you're right!
Vivian, undoubtedly that's true with many dreams, we are just working through random stuff.
I recently wrote about a dream that prompted one of my connections to start a dreams group. (I generally don't form groups or read from them...I just do my own thing.)
I see there are an abundance of dream groups here.
From having gotten to know you a little bit through Gather, I see you as someone who is fairly organized in their way of thinking. Based upon this perception, I would have expected you to have called the airport. So I'll address this seeming incongruousness in my perception of your personality first. Since your sense of urgency was so strong even after fully waking, I suspect there was someone you ran across at the airport that was an important and intended meeting (although it might not have seemed so in the transaction). Sometimes these 'chance' meetings are decided from a soul-state, and appear meaningless (if noted at all) from the third-dimensional interactions of our lives.
From a more symbolic, spiritual aspect of the dream's possible meaning, I would have to say that the dream was giving you a heads-up about some of your own inner reflections and feelings about yourself. That sense of urgency, from this perspective, would indicate that you're not happy with where you are (in terms of spiritual growth or activity, which can also encompass areas of self-esteem). I think the definitions I've listed below will explain this as well as I could if I wrote more in depth in this paragraph. If not, let me know and I'll expand further.
DEFINITIONS (not intended as complete or all-encompassing, only as I perceive them related to this dream):
Airport--Place of high ideals, high-flying ideas, connection points, area of communications and/or transportation. Can represent the coming and going of high hopes, ideas, ideals, prayers, affirmations, thought-forms, blessings or curses mentally released which go out, multiply according to their kind, and return to their source---YOU.
Black--Imponderable, unknowing, ominous.
White--Spirit, perfection, purity
Clothing can represent your idea of how you look to others, your outer appearance, attitudes; type of ideas and emotions that you feel, "put on" or act out. It can reflect your self-esteem.
Waitress--Attitudes of service, food for thought, conformity to demands of others. (Servant--Ideas of servitude, being used, unappreciated, underpaid, unworthiness, lack of authority.)
Packing--Getting it all together, ready for a change, ready to go. (Suitcase can represent "getting it all together:, especially your attitudes.
I often have senior-moment "gaps" in my thinking--hence not thinking to call the airport first.
I did have a thought that there were people I was supposed to meet along the way. Nevertheless, I did have some very interesting encounters. I always try to at least introduce myself to my seat mates and fellow travelers. I have information they need, or vice versa. It almost always works that way!!
Toni, I don't think there was a deep dark meaning to this dream; it was simple and straightforward to me, other than the black and white clothing. I am grateful for Tanya pointing out the "servant" aspect; if I am to serve in some capacity, I have to be ready to "perform." In the dream I was getting ready to do what I had to do, but unfortunately I dropped the ball in real life, lol!
