A Recipe A Day- Ladyfinger Lemon Dessert

This dessert recipe, from TOH Light, doesn't sound too bad. I really love lemon!

And I never knew you could whip evaporated milk like whipping cream. Learn something new every day, I guess.

Of course, I would serve this with whipped cream, Cool Whip has been banned from my home. I would rather have the extra fat and calories, than the cheap (read: unhealthy) ingredients in whipped topping. I try not to buy anything with saturated fat and/or high fructose corn syrup.

yummy. Sounds good. My man is trying to get me to try lime pie from Walmart and I'm hesistant. Never had anything with lime or lemon for pies.. LOL.. Most pies I don't like. haha

Sounds good to me. I always have preferred to get the whipping cream and whip it myself than use Cool Whip. Now I haven't banned Cool Whip, but it is used for emergencies or time squeeze events only. I never did think it tasted as good as real whipped cream. And I didn't know evaporated milk could be whipped either. Glad to know.

Yeah, anything with lemon works for me!!! That sounds good.

I love Key Lime Pie too, and have tried to make it a couple of times myself from a book I have, and it tastes fine/OK... just comes out semi-soupy like, ha ha. You wouldn't have a fool proof recipe for that to recommend would you?

I wonder why they say to dissolve gelatin in "boiling orange juice"? I've always dissolved it in lukewarm water.... sounds interesting - and I love lemon and orange! Thanks!
