The Last Snow of Winter 2008 - PLEASE

The day before yesterday coming home for running around town, I spotted this!

I was so happy to see anything growing I grabbed my camera and took a shot.

Then that night it started to snow and this is what I saw at 7:30 in the morning. I took a walk with my camera. It is not quite full light but I thought I'd share.

My birch tree is shivering.

Everything is covered in snow.

It's a blue snowy morning

Just had to look up - isn't it pretty?

In the back yard now I can look down the ravine to the stream at the bottom - all covered in snow.

Even the bird house is cold.

Once back inside my warm home, I looked out through the glass room at the back.

I hope this is the last snow for 2008 and I'd like to see all my bulbs start to grow, anytime now!!

I hope the snow is gone for awhile too. Pretty pictures.
I'm absolutely sick to death of the snow, too. I have crocuses coming up, but I'm certain we'll be hit at least one more time.

Bleh....:P. Living in Missouri, we've had some awful weather over the last few months. Tornadoes, snow up to our [censored]es, floods, etc. I'm hoping everybody gets a break from this [censored], and we can all start the growing season soon. My wife and daughter are planning a tomato garden, if not planting them.

Even though I hate snow, the snow scenes are beautiful but I know you must be sick of all the snow!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I know, it snowed here in Montana again last night, nothing is blooming yet. Last year we had an early spring at the end of February. Go Figure! West Yellowstone looks like a glacier right now. I am sooooo ready for spring and blooms, any color at all.

Welcome spring! K bought me some daffodils that had sprouted but not bloomed yet, and we've planted them. He also bought me a gerbera daisy and a hyacinth, both that are blooming inside. I will transplant them outside later. :-)

I know I've been rubbing spring in your face for a month or so...would believe it's payback...this morning was the third in a row with....SNOW SHOWERS! Holy cow, this is Oregon's Willamette Valley...sea level...never snows! It does melt off by 9 am, but WEIRD!

Your photos are so pretty, but I guess enough is enough already. Last week it was beautiful here, people on the beach and in the ocean, kids in the pool (even though I thought it was a little too chilly, but they weren't my kids) and just gorgeous weather. This weekend it is back to being cold, windy and gray. I'm with you, bring on Spring.

Stunning photos! We can only HOPE winter has tired itself out and will have no choice but to give way to spring! this is why I dream of moving to a warm-er climate -- someday, when the time is right. Great job!
Nice photos! We have tulips starting to pop through the ground, but I don't think we're done with that white, messy-stuff yet. My lavender plants have come up and turned that greyish-green and started growing at least 3-4 times and then it snowed on them (again) or iced on them and they wait to start all over again. I'm keeping this years Easter Lilly in the house -- maybe till May!

You guys are having the same weather as we are in Seattle! It's insane. We don't normally have this much snow in the winter. We were snowed in on Sunday. Snowed in... at the end of March.
I love your window room!! Oh I'd love to have one of those and the scenery to go with it. I also hope that we've seen the end of the snow. We did have an ice storm in April when I was in high school but that was so long ago.

In Ohio today, it was 61 degrees at 6:00 PM and dropped to 43 degrees by 7:00 PM.

I want to go fishing! I hope I don't end up on the lake in a snowmobile suit.

Brrr.... We also had that last snow here in Michigan. We've had the 4th snowiest winter since they started keeping records in the 1800s. I am so ready for spring!

I feel your pain, Marilyn. I think next week all the snow piles will be melted and the temps will rise here. Actually, the steady cold is better for our gardens than the swing in warm and cold temps. At least there's something good about it. :-)

We finally have a beautiful, sunny, warm, cheery day in Michigan. Even the dog didn't want to come back indoors today! I just hope it will last. It was great to open windows and let in some fresh air!

Lovely pictures, but I know what you mean about hoping the snow ends. I have iris coming up and I haven't cleaned out the beds from last fall. I never got all the leaves raked either and it's been too cold to do that.

We just got over an inch of snow on the weekend to boost this winter from the 3rd snowiest for our city to the 2nd snowiest on record.

Wonderful photos!

I couldn't sleep at all on Saturday night and I saw it snow, lightly, from about 5 am to 7:30 am- it was beautiful and didn't stick, but I would rather have seen blue sky, nothing but blue sky... We had three nice days, then back to cold and wet.

There sure is a lot of snow. Makes me cold just looking at it. Great pictures, though!
Although we don't get snow here, I am not one for winter. It prohibits me from being able to enjoy the outdoors. I did enjoy seeing your winter photos in this though. That's as close as I care to be to the snow. :)
