Updated for my mom. Mom will be another year older on March 29th. Since this is her "birthday month", I wanted to "spotlight" this post again.
**********************************************************************
Mom is one of the most spectacular people you could ever meet. For those of you who do not know her, let me introduce her. Her name is Linda to most, Ms. Linda to some, Granny Linda to the grand and great grandchildren, and mama to the children.
Mama has always been a strong person. Let me give you an example of this. On a rainy day in December, she went into labor with me. She had to drive herself to the hospital and on the way had a flat tire. Although in the middle of labor pains, she managed to change the flat and proceed to the hospital.
She has always worked, whether for someone else or owning her own business with Ken (my step dad). They are usually at the restaurant from opening to closing, six days a week. I have never known mama to be without a job or unemployed.
My mom is an angel in disguise. Although she can be tough when situations warrant it, you usually can find her giving food to a poor, weary traveler or even an abandoned animal. Just recently there was a cat, whether he had been dropped off or just gotten lost we don't know, at the restaurant. She mixes up food and pours gravy over it for the poor thing. The cat will be well fed until someone claims him. Mama does so much for people down on their luck. If you need the shirt off her back, she will give it to you. I admire so many of her qualities, but this is one that I really love.
Her and I have had our "moments". There were times when I didn't think she knew what she was talking about. Thankfully, we are closer now than we have ever been. I appreciate her patience and understanding. I especially appreciate her unconditional love. I think with age, we realize that our parents are smarter than we thought they were.
She is so special to me and I am thankful for every moment I can spend with her. There are so many things I love about her. I could go on and on about the many things mama is and how much she means to me, but I don't know if Gather has that much space available. So to sum it up, I will just say "I love you Mama. Happy Birthday."

Necee, thank you for the compliment and the cute graphic.
Dee, some people only see what they wish to see and then claim they weren't aware. When one doesn't listen or only listens half heartedly then they tend to miss the obvious. Also, when people can not keep up with the lies they have told, then their world becomes "skewed". I am much better off without that type of person hanging around, bringing me down and creating negative energy in my world and those I love. Anyway, enough of that....Mom and Ken said to tell you and Dad hi and thanks for the birthday wishes. I love you guys.
Katherine, she definitely is one of the "good folk". I'm glad you were able to stop by :)
Sherrie, spunky is an understatement. She's definitely "something else". Thank you for coming by.
