Our first "date night" in over a year....need suggestions

My husband and I finally found a babysitter we like and this weekend we're going out for our first "date night" alone in over a year. The last time we went out to dinner by ourselves was in February of 2007.

We are planning to go to dinner and see a movie since we have some movie gift certificates, but I need to know which movies are worth seeing.

So, has anyone seen any good movies lately? We're NOT into horror films, but we do LOVE comedies, dramas, etc. The last movie we saw in the theatres was The Bee Movie, and before that was The Simpsons Movie....both of them we took our son to. So, it's been a long time since we've seen a movie that wasn't animated and we're really looking forward to it.

Any suggestions for a good movie?

As for the movie, no clue. The only time I seem to find time to see a movie is when I am taking the boys. In the last year I have only been to see a movie once without them and that was with about 12 of our friends after a big Xbox live get together at our house for a few birthdays. Im sure you will find something.
I want to see Drillbit Taylor and the new Will Farrell movie. They both look hysterical!

It depends what kind of movies you like and where you live. If you live in the Hollywood area you have a lot more options. There are the current Oscar-nominated films: Juno, No Country for Old Men, Atonment, La Vie En Rose and There Will Be Blood. If you like something kind of creepy scary try the Orphange. If you're more the G-rated type then I hear Horton Hears a Who is good. Enjoy, Lee d

Okay I just read past the part about seeing a movie, sorry I got all excited when I saw that, so forget the last two. In Bruges was good if you like sick black humor and you don't mind some blood. If you like period pieces, the Other Boylen Girl is okay. I don't know if I am Legend is still out. We saw the Best Foreign Film, Counterfitters last weekend. It takes place in concentration camp, based on a true story. I still can't get over that whole thing. How do people get so screwed up? Any way good luck, whatever you decide. L.

I am Legend is out on DVD. Just got mine from Netflix a couple days ago. So it's not likely in a theater. We used to go to a friend's house to watch movies with them for date nights. That's always a possibility too if you can't find a good movie. I don't know what's out there.

No suggestions just have fun and enjoy. I haven't been out with my loved one alone for a few months now. We do go to breakfast alone together every Thursday before I go off to my college class. :)

I suggest you go see "Charlie Wilson's War" with Tom Hanks if that is still in theatre in your area. Another good one is "Vantage Point" or "PS I Love You", but these may all have left the theaters.
