Perhaps you could begin by telling us a bit about your background. Where did you grow up? Do you have any siblings? How does your family feel about your musical ambitions? Well, I was born in Fitchburg Massachusetts at Burbank hospital. I grew up till I was 9 years old in Ashburnham Mass. Then moved to Antrim NH. And moved all over the country after that. I do have two brothers whom which I love very much. Adam is my older brother and Nick is my younger brother. And yes I am the middle child. And about my family. My family supports me more than I could possibly ask.
When you compose a song where do you get your ideas from and how does a song evolve?
I get my idea's from life experiences I've had. My life is some what crazy. How do my song's evolve? Well, I am a very emotionally driven man. I take life very loosely with most of the day to day we all go through. But if it has to do with someone I love or barely know I always take it seriously when my judgement tells me and my judgement is pretty keene.
What drives you to make music? My drive comes from my family and friends. I have been given the opportunity for what I do through my family genes. My mother brought me and my brothers up on her own playing music in bars and weddings my entire life. She also is a singer/songwriter.
What is the piece of music that you are most happy with from your own output and why? All of my music is part of stuff that I have been through in my life so it is all very important to me.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? I enjoy laughing and playing with my dog and dating women. What any guy I think would like to do in his spare time.
What genre do you consider your music to be? All sorts of genre's. I have like 40 plus original songs and they fall under ska, rock, acoustic, experimental, Reggae & Punk. Depends on how I feel while writing. You know?
Who are your musical and non-musical influences? Oh man, I could go on all day. Hendrix, Radiohead, Decendents, Sublime, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, System of A down, Rage, Frank Sinatra. I'm not a huge country fan though.
What are your songs about? A lot of them cover stories of women I have been with. I've dated a lot of crazy women. But for the most part it's all about what you get out of them by listening.
What's your coolest story in regards to you playing music? I was in Hawaii for awhile about two years back with my older brother Adam when he lived there and he convinced me to take my music seriously and not just write for my own pleasure any more. So I went back to New Orleans with the attitude of taking my music seriously. I wasn't back one week and my phone rings and Shane Theriot is on the other end. For those who don't know who he is he's played guitarist and producer and has played with such greats as the Nevel Brothers, Willy Nelson, LeAnne Rimes, Bonnie Raitt, Yes etc. etc. So he went on saying how some one that I knew loosely gave him my CD and he listened to it and asked me "I don't know what your future looks like for yourself but I'd like to get together with you and talk about me producing a demo with you." I was like,"ah let me check my calendar". J/K. I said ok and smiled large. That's when I wrote "Turning Point" and "Rest My head" and another song I have called "Stale Eggs". It was pretty exciting for me.

Good to learn more about you Matthew~
also you don't know how this was edited april. i've done interviews where words have been taken totally out of context, making it sound like i ment something other than what i did say.
and please, don't get mad at me, i'm not taking sides in this, i'm just saying that not everything is always what it seems or how it's written.
But I am very glad that you all took the time to read this. I hope you all have a great day. Matthew
He does have a style of his own and it sorta grows
on you while listening to his music. Thank You
