A British court ordered former Beatle Paul McCartney on Monday to pay his estranged wife Heather Mills $48.7 million after a bitter divorce battle in which Mills fired her attorneys and ended up representing herself, a very successful and profitable outcome for her brief four-year marriage to the Sir Paul.
Mills tells all would-be divorcees to do the same. "You can be a litigating person," she said. "You'd save yourself a fortune." That says it all about her real intentions behind her brief stint as Mrs. McCartney. Once added up her $50 million wind fall amounts to about $34,000 for each day of marriage.
Perhaps McCartney should have taken Gov. Eliot Spitzer's lead, there by saving himself a messy divorce and 30 to 40 million.

I feel badly for Paul because he was a vulnerable at the time. He was trying to recapture what he had with his first wife, and he obviously wasn't thinking very clearly.
