But a new book by critics of the GOP says McCain's been getting a "free ride" for years from the US press. But is charming the press such a crime for a man who would lead this big, boisterous country? Yes, say McCain's critics, if it short-changes the facts.

He was great because he was moderate to liberal and used to poke conservative Republicans in the eye on a regular basis.
Than was then, this is now.
We has a good chance at winning. Especially with Obama and Billery fighting with sharpened snow shovels! The mainstream media WANTS a Democrat president and will do anything to help the Democrats.

Additionally, he should've served a prison sentence for being part of one of the biggest political scandals in modern history, AND he BURIED 97% of the 750,000 Abramhoff documents that he was in charge of investigating, because they would've linked other prominant republicans, including probably himself, to criminal activities.
Aside from that, his campaign is now in direct violation of federal campaign finance laws...specifically, the law that HE helped to craft. Never mind that, though. Obama has a minister. That's FAR more critical to this upcoming election that any of McCain's illegal behaviors. After all, we've gotten accustomed to having criminals in the white house, after the past 7 years of bush/cheneycorp criminality. It won't be anything new at all if another criminal is sworn in.
McCain a louse, a liar, and an extension of the worst president in US history. Of COURSE, the "liberal media" is ignoring all of the sordid facts about him, and focusing instead on the minister of one of the democratic candidates.
Btw, notice that the "liberal media" has failed to even mention that the ministers that McCain sought out endorsements from want to kill all Catholics, kill all Muslims, and, oh btw, blame 9/11 on America...go figure. No mention of that in the "liberal media," though.
There couldn't possibly be a worse person to consider for the presidency at this moment than warmongering, lying, lobbyist-coddling, corporate whore, repeat offense criminal Johnny Wad. I'd even hold my nose and vote for habitual liar and corporate whore Shrillary before him.
As long as Billery and Obama keep trading jabs, McCain has nothing to worry about.
Additionally I have been amazed by the number of journalists referring to McCain's incorrect identification of Iraq as Iran as being forgetful, or having misspoke, not as being strategic or testing a political idea- instead they said "Let's give the guy, a break. He just made a mistake." That is something you do to a dotting grandfather that you are worried about not a presidential candidate. Do the people traveling with McCain see him as that? Unfit, too old for the scrutiny? We need that media to stand up and say regardless of this person's obvious status or experience, he did not make 'a mistake', he has a flaw that in the position he is trying to hold, is potentially dangerous to our nation as a whole, and btw has shown great disrespect to the American troops. Wether the flaw was age, arrogance or ignorance he should be pushed regardless of what party affiliation a person has.
Exactly. Which would give most pause as to why the so-called "liberal media" would be so intent upon focusing entirely on that, rather than on McCain's very serious criminal and sleazy activities. I thought you said that the "liberal media" wanted a democrat to win the white house? If that's the case, all they'd have to do is start talking about the Keating five, McCain's many sordid ties to corrupt lobbyists, the lunatic religious elements who've endorsed him and whom he has embraced, the fact that he represents another term of BushCheneyCorp failed policies, or the fact that he buried 97% of the 750,000 Abramhoff documents that would've sent probably dozens more corrupt republiCONs to prison, including, quite likely, himself.

The free media ride is being enjoyed by Johnny Wadd. Peel back the layers of that onion, and you find one seriously deranged, very dishonest, corrupt politician. Perfect republiCON candidate. No wonder the "liberal media" refuses to point out the facts, just as was the case when they buried the truth about junior during the 2000 campaign. Imagine where we'd be right now if the public had been told of his insider tradiing fraud, his fraudulent use of public funds to fatten his own wallet, his utter failure to govern the state of Texas, his many corrupt ties to corrupt businessmen and politicians, the mysterious death of the woman who claimed he'd raped her and forced her to have an abortion, that happened, shockingly, immediately before her lawsuit against him was to begin, and of course, his going AWOL during Vietnam, rather than serving his term of committment in the cushy national guard unit that his daddy pulled strings to get him into in the first place.
Then, as now, that darn "liberal media" chose, instead of telling the truth about a republiCON candidate, focused on creating and publishing outright lies about the democratic candidate, and refusing to set the record straight, even after the lies had been exposed. Then, the "liberal media" took it even one step further by allowing the election to be stolen by a corrupt governor, sec. of state, and partisan supreme court, without so much as offering a shred of factual information to the public with regard to the theft.
CBS, that bastion of liberalism that ranks right up there with the NYT, in terms of gathering visceral hatred from the right, literally refused to broadcast the story by Greg Palast that uncovered the theft of the FL election, and even when he went to the BBC to publish the evidence, the "liberal" media in the US refused to carry the story.
It's time to destroy the "liberal media" and level the playing field once and for all, by restoring the Fairness Doctrine. Enough of this ridiculous "left wing" bias in the media. Winston, will you join me in urging our elected representatives to bring back the one thing that will assure that the media is unbiased and neutral? Let's bridge our political differences in order to meet this common goal of ending media political bias, shall we?

The one getting the free ride has been Obama..............well, up until Saturday Night Live did that spoof on him. Since then, the media has been shamed into giving the guy at least a little pushback.
It really took something like this Jeremiah Wright controversy to put the spotlight on him.
McCain is getting all the positive press because he's been doing positive things (reviewing American troops in Iraq, visiting King Abdullah in Jordan, getting a standing ovation when he spoke in the Knesset, meeting with Sarkozy in France, and also with Gordon Brown in England) while Hillary and Obama beat each other into submission.
Funny...What I've seen and heard is that he has a minister, and that he cannot be allowed to be president because of this fact.
Meanwhile, John McCain's ministers are spewing anti-American hatred, and cannot wait to murder all catholics and muslims, but, the "liberal media" is strangely silent...weird.

What exactly is positive about his delusional meanderings? And, why is it that when Nancy Pelosi visited the middle east, along with several republiCON politicians, she was railed in the "liberal media," but when Johnny Wadd does it, he's a national hero?

Two starkly different standards of measure. For Obama, he can't even so much as KNOW anyone who has so much as uttered a single WORD that ANYONE would EVER possible construe as errant.
For Johnny Wadd, no amount of corrupt ties to lobbyists, including his involvement in the Keating Five, his involvement in the Abramhoff scandal, or his involvement with corrupt lobbyists that involved what appears to be a sordid affair at the same time, can even be discussed, let alone scrutinized. And, the fact that he lies constantly about his corrupt ties to corrupt lobbyists isn't even considered.

Obama's minister gets 30 seconds of a 9 minute speech taken entirely out of context, and he's supposed to be banned from politics for life. Johnny Wadd constantly makes idiotic statements about bombing other nations, confusing our allies with our enemies, and is completely clueless about domestic issues, but he's a God in the eyes of the "liberal media."
While Obama and Clinton are discussing real issues and offering real solutions to real problems of today, McCain is doing photo ops, making idiotic comments that border on insanity, and not being faced with a single question from a single reporter. Yet, he's actually still considered a viable candidate by some. Unbelievable. Darn that "liberal media" once again, for failing to tell the truth.
