Some people call restoring order "military crackdown". The nerve! Well, I guess it depends on which side you are on. If your brother gets sent away for 5 years for being disorderly, or whatever. Supposedly, some people were killed. Others were hurt very badly.

The central government in Beijing, at least officially blames this on the Dali Lama trying to disrupt the olympic games. I don't think that the timing is aimed at disrupting the olympic games.

From a BBC arcticle:

China's state media has recently attacked foreign news coverage of the unrest, claiming it is unfair.

The official People's Daily newspaper said foreign journalists had misrepresented government efforts to restore order as a military crackdown.

Military crackdown???? The oppressive action of a self-denying totalitarian autocratic dictator-like messed-up-in-the-nonexistent-head, inhumane, oppressive, anti-freedom, anti---okay, I'll stop now...... But China needs to open its eyes!!!!
