Happy Thoughts - 25 March 2008

The best thing in the world to me is when you get a whole album of music that you love. (Yes, I still call them albums!) I suppose it isn't hard today to just get whatever songs you like. Back when I was young (I swear, I'm not that old!) you had to suffer through songs you hated to hear the good stuff, and then flip the record or tape over just when you were getting into the groove. Young whippersnappers don't know how good they have it to be able to listen to non-stop music on their mp3 players for hours!

When I'm cleaning, I love throwing on an album - Janet Jackson's "All For You" album is one of my favorites. I dance around and dust!

I think Robbie Robertson and the Red Road Ensemble - Music for The Native Americans is the only album I've had that I didn't have at least one song I wanted to fast-forward through.

I'm with you all the way!!! Chicago, Journey Phil Collins....I'm into soft rock, but love most of the 80's music. My brain even remembers which music comes next on the albums!!

I am afraid that the album is a dying art form as we can so easily purchase a single nowadays. The album was at one point a series of ideas that cemented a particular era of an artist's life together and told a human story that we could relate to even in the songs we didn't like. Technology has somewhat broken up this kind of work as whole and we miss the feeling we got from Bob Seger's "Against the Wind" or Pearl Jam's "Ten". Maybe this isn't true but the trend seems to bend that direction. Thanks for the happy thoughts Cori!

Anything from the 70's, - I love the 70's music, even collect it!! Cori, you really made me laugh because I do clean my home by music too................The Music Choice digital TV has a channel, 927 to e exact, plays not stop 70's music, - anything and everything, - it makes cleaning house so much easier especially when I am doing 'heavy-duty' cleaning!!! LOL
