We just came home from an Easter egg hunt. My two girls and I went with some friends. The children in our group totaled 7. They were giving away 12 prizes. 6 of the 7 children in our group came home with a prize basket.
How lucky are these kids! They split the ages into 2 sections of the lawn. 5 and under and 6-12. Three of ours were in the 5 and under. I was stunned. One of my daughters won because she found the least amount of eggs. The other one because her birthday was the closest to Easter. The four other winners in our group won because of certain eggs picked and one of them one found the golden egg.
The lucky little poops. My girls gave their baskets up though because they saw a little boy crying...... there went one basket and the other one went to the other child in our group who was having a hissy because she did not win.
They did this with out prompting. I am very proud of them. I was surprised that my soon to be four year old has developed enough empathy to give her basket up to another crying child. I am so very proud!

Easter Glitters
When I was a kid, our family had the colored "eggs" marked with the letters 'A', 'E', 'R', 'S' and 'T'. One of these would be rare and would qualify the finder for a prize. When my younger brother was old enough to know how to add, we also had numbers (digits 1 -> 9). The hunt participant with the highest total would also get a prize.
That's great, Carmel! You must be doing a fantastic job raising your kids.
Either that, or they don't like eggs and were looking for an excuse to get rid of them.
I prefer the former.
