I don't like Helium myself. One of the writers there periodically steals my writings and calls them hers. I can't get her to take them down, or the support folks to even answer me.

Patricia - Boomer towne is ok, it gets pretty boring, but they do send out the gift certificates really quickly and it's fairly easy to earn points. I usually just rate stuff and play games.

I never posted anything there. If I have a phrase in something I write that I think is rather clever, I'll Google that phrase and see if it comes up anywhere. Sure enough, I did that one day about a year ago and found my article posted on this woman's page, word for word with her name attached. So she's making money from my words. I put a public comment on her page, telling her that I had proof of when I wrote those words (both on my computer and on another site where I posted them first). She never responded or took them down. I also contacted the owners of Helium. No response from them either. The woman now has 5 of my articles up and attributed to her.

Sounds interesting, both the pros and cons. I've written reviews for e-pinions, too, and made about $30 or 40. But writing those articles took a fair amount of research and it took a lot of time for the money I got paid.

Here, I'm doing what I love, and writing and posting what I would be doing anyway, just because I want to. So the payment is just the icing on the cake.
