When driving through my neighborhood I always keep an eye out for piles of trash where treasures may be hidden. Today was no exception; out of the corner of my eye while passing a street on the way home I noticed something that looked to be either a record player or a sewing table. Either way I was going to take a look, so I did a 180 and went to where it was. Sure enough, tucked safely inside was an absolutely beautiful vintage Morse sewing machine, complete with various attachments and an instruction booklet! When I brought her home and plugged her in I was delighted to find that she still works, too! There's a knee pedal under the table which I love, the sewing table itself could use refinishing but all in all I am ecstatic at finding this "treasure" among the trash. Does anyone know if refinishing the sewing table will lower it's value?

LOL LeeAnn I guess I'm a good rummager, I'm always finding great stuff for either free or really cheap. The other day I went to a yard sale and got a full-size dishwasher, mini pool table for the kids (complete with balls, rack, sticks, and chalk), a stand mixer, six stuffed bunnies for the kids for easter, and a spice rack with glass jars for a total of 60 dollars. I've also managed to acquire a free sectional couch, free portable dvd player, free Dora CD/MP3 player (had to dig deep for that one...lol) and a washing machine for eight dollars! The washing machine was actually a funny story, the guy first wanted 60 dollars for it...then halfway to his house he calls me and says his wife has the car for the weekend and he wants a 12-pack of cheap beer. I got him the beer (8 dollars) and he gave me the washer! :D
Wow Linda, $1000 for marbles? Amazing... LOL
