Ok so I am very frustrated right now .. Keep in mind I am not complaining and I love my new house .. just frustrated!
Here's the thing. My house was built by habitat for humanity. When the 'volunteers' were opening and installing my dishwasher they dropped it and cracked the front door and side corner of it. So I have a brand new dishwasher that is broken and doesn't work. I had to buy the dishwasher myself .. it was wrapped into my mortgage so this is very frustrating to me. Then the dishwasher repair man was supposed to come yesterday .. he never showed up. So I have been in the house for almost a month now and nothing has been done to fix this yet .. no matter how many times I have called and tried.
Next .. a local alarm company when the house was being built installed an alarm in the house. It was supposed to be donated and free. (because of me being a domestic violence survivor) Well .. mine doesn't work. It was working .. then habitat had a ceremony at my house and I think someone tried to silence it and broke it in the process. So now my alarm is not working too. The alarm company will not come out and fix it without charging me fee's. They want $65 just to come out and tell me what is wrong with it then they will charge me more according to what it needs to have done .... GRRRR ... I don't have the money to have this done. Seems like to me habitat or the alarm company would take care of this but nope, its all me now. I would have thought since I was not moved in and living there they would have made sure it worked!
Then the plumbers when they came they had students doing the work. Well they didn't check behind the students work and we had all kinds of plumbing leaks and they dropped my bathroom sink and took a big chunk out of it. So I finally got the leaks fixed yesterday but I still have a giant chunk missing out of my sink right near where the faucet is .. in a very noticable spot. Seems like if someone is going to be wokring in someone else's house volunteering or not they would be a little more careful. Not to mention the teacher should have went back and checked the students work knowing they are new to all that.
Oh and we were supposed to get blinds and have them installed too .. Mine were ordered. I still have no blinds. They accidently gave them to my neighbor. So I have to wait for them to order more.
They built two houses next to each other ... mine and my neighbors. She doesn't have any problems with her house! Her dishwasher and alarm are working fine.... although she did have problems with the plumbing leaking too. Oh and someone forgot to plug in her sump pump and her basement got water in it .. she was glad it happened before she moved in though!
I am just so frustrated ... I want to get the alarm fixed but can't afford to do it on my own. Then the dishwasher who knows what they are going to do about that. I am so sure the warranty doesn't cover the volunteers dropping it so I am scared to find out what is going to come of that. I want the alarm fixed so bad though because my house insurance asked me for proof of the alarm and activation so that I can continue getting a discount on my insurance for it. If not then my insurance goes up too.
To add to it all too .. I have a broken tie rod and wheel bearing (hub) on my car that I am already stressing over since I can't afford gas and insurance let alone car repairs and all this other stuff!!!!!
So this morning I am so frustrated!!!!

I have an idea. *big grin* It might not be much - but are you on the cash option? You could upload a TON of photos and I'm sure other people (not JUST me) would be more than willing to go through all of them to help you out.
I'll start right now....
I am sending good vibes your way. I pray that you start to feel them soon. Prayers are still being said. And your box is to be sent out tomorrow!
Don't get me wrong though I love the house and I feel so blessed to have it! I just have some kinks I have to work out!
The dishwasher repair man has come a few times. Now were just waiting for the parts to come so he can swap them out. AMEN for warranties!
The alarm .. well I am just screwed on that. The guy who installed it was supposed to be a professional and he is not standing by his work. So instead of using the company who installed it I am going to find a new alarm company .. one that will stand by their work! So I have to hire someone to come out and fix that. Habitat won't do anything about it since the guy was supposed to be 'volunteering'. Seems like they would have or know someone who would know how to fix it though .. I will just have to wait to get it fixed until I can afford too.
The leaks seem to be all fixed for the most part. I am going to have a friend of mine come and double check all of them for me. He knows something about plumbing.
The electrical problems I was having seem to be fixed for the most part. I had a friend of mine come over who is an electrician and he looked it all over. I had a bad circuit thingy and so he relaced that ... and took the other one back to the store. The part was $50!!! I had to get it though..
I got the tie rod on my car fixed the other day because driving down the road it broke and blew out my tire. I got lucky because one of my customers is a mechanic and he worked out arrangement with me. So I did not have to pay it all up front but half and the other half tomorrow. I still have to get the bearing and an aligment and head lights too though.
