I am a 3-4 day a week nanny for a 3 year old girl and her twin 1 year old brothers, for those how don't know. I absolutely cannot imagine being anywhere else, doing anything else at this point. Though some may think it's odd that I'm not in the corporate world as I have been on and off for 30 years, I just love what I'm doing now and feel I am called to this.
That being said . . It' 8:54 AM and here is a breakdown of my day thus far:
Get up at 5:30 (I hit the s|ooze alarm 3 times after it went off at 5 am.)
First cup of coffee, let out the dog, spend a few quiet moments in prayer.
Check email, log on to Gather.
Second cup of coffee
Log into blackboard to read and make posts for my on-line class.
Transfer remainder of 2nd cup of coffee into commuter mug and top off for short drive to work.
Arrive at 7 am. This particular morning all three children decided to get up at 7:08! (sometimes I get until 7:30!)
Make breakfast for babies while sister watches first Dora the Explorer episode and decides whether she's going to be crabby/sassy or recover and act half-way sweet since she got up way early.
Send sister to bathroom, remove pull-up and pj's and get dressed (some protest, but not too bad)
Feed boys, change 2 (poopie--soryy!) diapers. Feed sister while she watches 2nd Dora episode.
Clean up from boys (food all over floor and high chairs. )
Get boys dressed and introduce them to new "big boy" shoes. They aren't thrilled as these are hard-soled and they are used to moccassin type shoes. Both boys figure out how to unvelcro big boy shoes before sister has finished breakfast.
Boys play, sister begins third Dora episode while we negotiate whether she will be ~forced~ to go out and ride her tricycle for a few minutes before we begin our "BIRD PROJECT" I promised her we would do today.
Okay - boys are in bed, almost settled down for what will hopefully be a one-hour nap. Dora is almost over and I'm praying I can come up with a bird project idea before she's done riding her bike up and down the driveway!!
I wouldn't trade this life for anything! At least not today;~)

Your day sounds like mine, LOL!! Right now Pacey is on her 2nd Dora and refuses to eat breakfast or get dressed. Colton, the 2 yr old, is still asleep.
I love what I do though!!!!
