What Is Happening Today On Gather - Thursday, March 20,2008

It has been pretty crazy around here the last couple days. The Internet has been out more than it has been in but they do say it is completely repaired now.  It is pouring down the rain, thundering and lightning outside now.  Come on in and take your jacket off.  Let me hang it up for you. We can sit by the fire and get warm and cozy. I am glad you are here.  I have missed chatting with you.

Before I go into all the wonderful events that are scattered around the gather community, I need to apologize to you.  I made an mistake - it was on the date of the live chat with Oprah on Tuesday. The chat was on chapter three of the book "A New Earth."  I am so sorry and I  hope that it did not cause problems with your attendance at the live chat. Please forgive me.  The live chats on this book will be each Tuesday at 12 noon eastern Standard time for the next 7 weeks.  If you missed the chat, the transcript is now available. The Parenting Group Is The Place To Be:

  CALLING ALL EXPECTANT MOTHERS!   Are you pregnant or do you know someone who is?  There are some wonderful advice and tips  for pregnant women on Gather. One such article is "Healthy Ways to Size Yourself Up. Get Your Free Copy of The Real Deal Guide to Pregnancy" by Erika Lenkert.   This article offers tips on weight gain, feeling good about yourself, as well as getting a fresh perspective. Have you joined the Sisterhood Group yet?  There are always - exciting things going on in that group.  Currently, there is a lot of chatting going on about the book "The Memory of Water!" by Karen White.  Ten Lucky gather members were chosen to receive a free copy and will be posting their reviews soon. The winners are announced by Christine M in her article.  The author has published an Excerpt from "The Memory Of Water" here.  It sounds like a wonderful book. "Congratulations" to all the lucky winners of the book. I am looking forward to reading all  the reviews.

Spring is in the air! We all want spring to arrive so we find ourselves doing little things that remind us that Spring will be arriving soon.   Maria McBride, author of "Party Basics for New Nester's" has published an article that lists five things that she has to do this week.  What are your plans for the beginning of spring?
