I started working in January this year & I am really enjoying my job. A few weeks after I got my job I had prayed & told my Heavenly Father that I was tired of my husband working at nights. The next day my husband was fired. I learned that you need to be a bit more specific when praying for the things you need LOL ;o). When my husband told me he was let go I felt peace. I don't know why...normally I would have freaked out. Maybe it was because I know I have a secure job? So our income has plummeted & I should be more worried than I am. I know that God has something in store for us & I know that in all reality it was a blessing my husband was let go. He was hanging onto that job & not allowing other employers to take him on cause he didn't want to mess with his Domino's schedule on the weekends. Also I find this a blessing because now my husband is home with us at night & I love it because now we can make REAL dinner & sit down as a family to eat.
A few weeks ago I found out I am pregnant with my 3rd child. We are living in a 2 bedroom cramped apartment & we know that we will need to move soon. We always seem to move when I am pregnant LOL...better for me right? ;o). Another thing I should be freaked out about, but I am not I feel peace.
Anyways so I told Victoria about our situation because we have kept in touch about what's up with our lives & I consider her a friend even though I haven't met her in person (I feel like I have...and I am getting a little choked up right now...) Anyway immidately she asked me if she could send us a care package & I told her sure. And she told me that her kids had a blast picking out the things that they gave to us. I want to say to you Victoria, Haley, & Parker THANK YOU (I am crying now...)
It was the most amazing thing we have ever gotten from anyone. I could tell it took a lot of thought & it was so great!
Benjamin LOVED the toy car & he wanted to take it to bed with him ;o)
Milly gave the Care Bear a hug & a kiss ;o) Benjamin was excited about Spiderman & I took him into the dark bathroom to show him how the web glowed. He thought that was cool.
We listened to the CD you gave us & there are a lot of great songs on there...a lot of them were my favorites...especially The Little Eiensteins Theme Song. I was making dinner at the time of the kids listening to it & when that song came on Benjamin came running & said excitedly, "Mommy!!! The Little Eiensteins!!" We LOVE that show in this house. Oh & Scooby Doo....he wanted to listen to it over & over & even before he went to bed we let him listen to it again ;o). Cotten Eye Joe...we swing danced to that one ;o) Well I was tossing Ben in the air & then we formed a ring to let Amelia join in. It's a great CD with fun songs that we can enjoy.
I put Amelia in the Tinkerbell dress and it doesn't quite fit, but I got some cute photos of her in it ;o). She kept trying to pull off the wings LOL ;o). I know by the
time she fits into it she will LOVE it so much that she won't let me take it off of her ;o) She did a few twirls in it & I just can't believe how girls automatically have that twirly dancing ingrained in them from the start haha ;o) She put her hands up like a ballerina ;o). I think she got it from the older girls in nursery (church class for the 18month - 3 year olds) now that I think about it....cause they are always twirling their princess dresses they wear to church ;o).My husband & I were given the movie School of Rock & some Movie Popcorn. We actually didn't own that movie & we haven't seen it...(which is a shock! We own over 450 DVDS! Now Over 451! LOL jk ;o)).
Amelia wanted me to read The Poky Little Puppy book & then she brought over The Red Hen one and she LOVES the animal pictures ;o).
Lastly we got a rattle & a teether for the baby when it comes and I know they will be a hit cause my kids liked that rattle at Grandma's house & you can't go wrong with teethers ;o)...not sure when the baby will be due, but be sure I will be announcing and keeping yall up to date on that ;o).
Again I want to thank you Victoria for being so willing to give to others! You are teaching your children great things & I really admire you a lot. I wish we lived closer cause I am sure that not only would we be great friends...our kids would be too. I did a couple of videos ( Video 1 & Video 2 )of the kids & I will post them....and I wanted to do a video of me thanking you, but I started bawling & yeah it wasn't attractive LOL! ;o) Just know that it meant a lot & we really appreciate it. I hope someday we can repay the favor. I love the saying, "Charity Never Faileth!" I find that so true in this case & again THANK YOU! Blessings to you & yours!

Marilyn you are right on...even though friends are far away they are always in our hearts! And yeah I think it will be ok. I was reading the scriptures the night my hubby was let go & it was amazing at what it said! I was shocked....
"....I would exhort you to have patience, and that ye bear with all manner of afflictions; that ye do not revile against those who do cast you out because of your exceeding poverty, lest ye become sinners like unto them.
But that ye have patience, and bear with those afflictions, with a firm hope that ye shall one day rest from all your afflictions."
I keep my bookmark in that page now haha. I have read through the book many times & I don't remember that one. It is amazing at the things you find at different stages in your life while reading through the scriptures. Anywho yeah I think that is why I feel so much peace. I need to have patience for something better should come. ;o)
Your kids do look like they were enjoying their new toys!!
Congrats on the pregnancy, and Good Luck to your hubby on finding a job. You just have to have faith that everything will work out. I will keep you in my prayers that everything falls together for you.
That was really sweet of Victoria. Looks like the kids really enjoyed all the goodies.
I love your outlook on life, it seems so at ease. It's a great outlook to have, Birdee. I hope that something perfect comes along for your family, you deserve it!
Blessings to you and your family.
I know in the scheme of things a package with fun stuff in it really probably doesn't do much to help in your situation, but as soon as I read your email telling me all that was happening in your life I wanted to do something and a care package was all I could think of. I'm glad Benjamin and Amelia enjoyed their things, and I hope you and your hubby enjoy your "date night at home on the couch". : ) I figured the Tinkerbell outfit would be a bit big for Amelia, but we couldn't pass it up. (Haley's obsessed with that stuff! lol) I thought this way Amelia will get more use out of it, being able to wear it longer. LOL Those things are usually made smaller than they say anyway.
I'm just glad everyone liked their stuff. I've been so excited for you to get it, you have no idea. I hope it truly did bring smiles to your faces. Looks like it certainly did to the kids. : )
It's just too bad you guys can't move all the way over here! If I thought I could find you a house and a job and actually convince you to make the move I'd start looking. That would absolutely rock!!
Okay, I'm totally rambling now. I'm glad the package was a hit. We really enjoyed fixing it up for you guys. You certainly didn't have to do a photo essay about it. I'm almost embarrassed. LOL You know that if there's ever anything I can do for you I'll try my best. Just ask. You are great and I'm glad we are friends. (Now I'M tearing up!!)
Congratulaions on the baby. :)
Yes, I am working of Gather now.
I hope you can make it to the live chat thursday evening. I put all the details on the Thursday edition of Today on Gather.

Birdee, I am happy for your upcoming baby. And I am sure you know this but I always remember "When God closes a door, a window opens".
I hope you are feeling better. Victoria and her family are here this weekend. I do miss them so much.
Happy Easter! I'm not surprised you're tired! I'm always happy to run across you!
Take care!
I am worried about you! Are you ok???
I am still worried. Where are you?? Are you ok????
Victoria is an awesome person! I think her teaching her kids how to give to others is such an important lesson to teach one and I really think that will make a world of difference on her children when they get older!
I hope you all find a good home and your husband gets that perfect job!
Take Care Birdee and congrats!
By the way, congratulations on your pregnancy!
we all go to the same Church. Connie has lent me a helping
hand when I was struggling on Gather. I am so thankful to
have Connie, Victoria and you as friends Birdee. Now you are
blessed with child I am so happy for you and hubby. And I will
pray that Heavenly Father will be there to help you with your
needs. Do take good care of 'you' Birdee.
