I usually give movies about the Jewish struggle with the Nazi's a miss these day, it seems to be the same old story re-hashed in a million different ways and if they have sub-titles like this one did, I really avoid. For some reason this time I continued to watch, probibly because I like the actor Elijah Wood in most everything he does. But this story was different, it was strikingly personal and starkly honest, I rarely cry but in this movie I couldn't stop myself.
It is the story of a young Jewish American man and his endeavors to find the woman who saved his grandfather during World War II in a Ukrainian village that was ultimately razed by the Nazis, with the help of a local who speaks weirdly funny broken English.
If you get the oppitunity to see this movie, please do it is incredible...
